Welcome petitegabby! I'm 53 and developed fibromyalgia appx 7 years ago, when a paraovarian mass was growing inside my pelvis. They discovered it 4 1/2 years ago but much damage was done. This site is full of wonderful people with lots of support for good & bass days.

Welcome to our club! I'm 53 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011 or 2012, but I was having symptoms back in '08-'09. Fibro is onlyvone of many chronic conditions I have, but I've found great advice & new friends who actually understand chronic pain. 🙋

Hi petite and weezie! I joined a month or two ago and really look forward to reading posts and participating sometimes. I am 52 and have fibro amongst other stuff.

Hello Petite, so sorry to hear that you suffer at such a young age .... Not that it's any easier to deal with if you are older. I'm 54 and diagnosed Sept 2014 but been ill with symptoms for a few years. I find that the pain therapist offers a lot of assistance by providing coping strategies. If you haven't seen one yet then it's worth a try. I hope you find some support and comfort here - I know I do. Only others with the condition or similar illnesses can truly understand the impact that it has on your life. Hope you have lots of good days where pain is minimal. X

Hi everyone I have a hot pack made with rice, take 2 large washcloths sew 3 sides up pour plain white rice in opening don't over fill. You want it to lay evenly over either side or on the back, also to put against the back and comfortably lay partially on it. Place in microwave and heat for 3 min.,oops don't forget to sew up last end after pouring rice in. Of course this will not make all of the pain away but sometimes it helps.

Hey weezie12, I've always used a sock by tying a knot in the end. Its most comfortable around the neck or across the knee. But I like the idea of yours for the back.

Heya. I've had fibro for over 20 years and have another pain condition and suspected ME as well as mental health problems. I use electric heat pads with various settings as i struggle with wheat bag weight. I also find some relief from Reflexology, heated pools, epsom salt soaks and aromatherapy. I was 13 when i began to show symptoms. I was diagnosed at 23 and I'm now 33.
