10-week back rehab

Nov 05, 2015 11:20 AM

Anybody been in one of these 10-week back pain rehab programs like the one at PureHealthyBack.com? It started out as Dynamic Rehab in FL (I think) then expanded to MI.

I'm in week 4, visit 7. If anything, my pain severity is worse. It is not at a constant 9 out of 10. I've had kidney stones, so I know what a 10 feels like.

Is there a light at the end of this tunnel or is this more false hope?

If anyone has had rehab success in a program like this, I would appreciate any real life successes.

Thanks,

Ron from Ann Arbor

I haven't been, but I'm very sorry your pain is so bad. You would think that by this stage you would have adjusted. Maybe this program is not the right program for you?

Rkolle01, I'm sorry it's not helping. I wonder if it's like the program Mayo (FL) wanted me to do for 3 weeks. That was the only one I've heard about until now. Mayo's PT and OT space was smaller than my orthopedics rehab room! Mayo expected me to do 8 hour days, which was one major reason I said no to them. $30,000 price tag was another. Have you talked with them about the increased pain. If so, what did they say? I hope you will feel some improvement soon. If not I'd be inclined to agree with Anonymous1971, that it's not the right program for you. 🙏🌼

Ron, what have they dx you with. I found out the hard way that what is wrong with me physical therapy can and will make my life a living hell. It will even cause my cysts to grow fast.

It has 4 components:

1. Computerized forward press that locks your hips in, so you're isolating lower back and stomach. Then 7 more circuit weight machines. 1 set of 15 twice a week.

2. Lite home exercises everyday for 10 min.

3. Yoga twice a week starting in week 4.

4. One massage per month.

I just finished week 4. Lot of soreness pain. It is driving me insane but I keep holding on to the belief that this will help my health once I get through it.
