A few updates

Mar 14, 2019 10:08 AM

I just wanted to update the status of several things I've posted about over the past few months. First of my hubby has his prostatectomy 3 weeks ago, and all the cancer cells were inside the prostate; no cancer seen anywhere else in his abdomen. I thank God for this blessing!

Next has to do with my stepmom who broke her hip in 09/2018 and is in a nursing home because of Alzheimer's & cognitive function decline. She was seen by the Ortho surgeon 2 days ago and he confirmed she will never walk again and is totally bedridden, but they plan to start stretching her legs at the ones to keep them from tightening and drawing up. Over the past month we have all noticed that she can understand more of what we say. But more importantly, she is trying to answer our questions or respond to our conversations! Sometimes it's just a word or two, and other times she manages to get full sentences out. She still struggles badly to recall what took place even 30 minutes before, but at least she's happier and smiling more. I thank God again for this!

I saw my Ortho doc yesterday on my hip, which has been bothering me for 4-5 months. I have a torn labrum, a hamstring tear and a tear in a small muscle tendon on the front of my thigh. Because I'm unable to do PT (I can barely do minimal movements) he has referred me to the Ortho surgeon, who will determine if I need to be scoped & cleaned out, or have a total hip replacement. I'm trusting God for what's best. And I would appreciate all the positive support, suggestion, thoughts and prayers anyone can give me! Hugs love & prayers for everyone, and anyone in the central and Midwest USA states stay safe today! Yesterday's weather was scary & dangerous for many. It's heading out way in the East. 🙂❤🙏🌼

You have so much going on right now, I don’t know how you have the energy to deal with all that’s on your plate. It’s wonderful that you are helping others but I hope you don’t forget to take care of yourself. It’s so easy to forget about ourselves when we take care of others. I hope all of you are feeling better soon.

Rejoicing with your good news and praying for your hip pain and decisions made with doctors. We had a lot of wind and storms that seemed to last forever. We are ok just lost sleep.

@ Toria, yes I had to learn to step back and take time for myself without feeling guilty for doing so. You are so right! No one else was taking care of me and I nearly paid for it.

Thank you everyone! It definitely helps me knowing I have this community for support. I didn't list what all has happened in the past 2 years, as it would make a book. But I've mentioned things during those years, and it was unbelievable to think I could get through it. But I have and it seems each challenge just makes me stronger, better able to cope with my own issues. Hugs love & prayers everyone has a better day today! 🙂❤🙏🌼

FlappysLady, don’t know how you do it! Hang in there. Glad to hear about your hubbys good news. I sure hope your Ortho can help
You with your hip problem. Patience and perseverance will help you. You already have that down. All your present and past life events have made you stronger. I know mine have helped me out. Sending you gentle hugs [[🤗]] and prayers 🙏. Yes we here in the east had 62degrees weather today. Dred it turning cold again. Take care of yourself my friend.

Thanks Painwarrior! You've had quite the run yourself the last couple of years. Lol, this cold weather change makes my hands like ice, and when my hubby complains I reach over and touch him... Never fails to make him here and tell me I'm cold. 😉

I don’t like the cold it makes me hurt more ...

Me either! My joints hurt so bad in the cold weather, but in hot weather my fibromyalgia flares up in my muscles all over. I do good when it's like 50-75.
