A horrible night

Oct 23, 2016 2:11 AM

The night started with me having horrible back pain. I couldn't stand long enough to cook so I got a pre cooked chicken from the shops.
I tried to sit a relax as much as I could.
My sons has been sick with a cold for a cupple of weeks (he is almost 2) but he didn't feel too bad.
We put him to bed at 7:30 and everything was going alright, my husband and I were relaxing and watching tv and I took more meds for my back.
9 o'clock rolls around and we hear our son coughing a little but we think nothing of it.
Suddenly we hear him chocking so we run in there.
Our son was struggling to breathe! So we check to see if he is chocking on something but it didn't look like he was. He still is coughing trying hard just to get a breath in so we call an ambulance.
His lips were going blue so they got there really quickly.
They gave him adrenaline through an oxygen mask and he started getting better.
Turned out he had a sudden onset of croup.
At the hospital they gave him steroids.
It was so painful sitting in those chairs and I was so stressed out.
I tryed my best to stay strong.
We were free to go home after 5 hours.
We were all worn out.
He is better today, the steroids wear off tomorrow.
hopefully all will be well

How dreadful for the family.. It is good that it wasn't anything serious.

MKnight, that's frightening. When I was a year old I was sick like that and choked on my own sputum and stopped breathing. I was blue, limp and ended up in an oxygen chamber in the hospital for 4 days. I still have issues when I get sick to this very day. Usually if I catch it before it gets to my chest then I'm on. I hope when the meds wear off, that he's doing much better and then you and your hubby and recuperate from the trauma. {{{Hugs}}}💕

Oh no. It's scary when you can't seem to catch a breath. And I am sure it's scary to watch. Poor little guy.. I hope you were able to rest today. :(

((( hugs )))

Oh no, poor little man. It's not nice to see your little ones not well especially if they have to be rushed to hospital like that.
I hope he's ok now and you and your husband have had time to rest and recover.
Sending you {{{BIG GENTLE LOVING HUGS}}}

Soft hugs to you and your family I pray for healing for you and your son. It's a terrible thing to hurt so terribly and see your child sick and know you have no choice but to push through the pain to take care of your beautiful child. The world is cold and cruel to those of of with chronic pain!!! There are no comfortable places to be except your "spot" with your accessories like mine is my two heating pads and a gel pad to sit on. I hope things are better now! Prayers!
