A little too close to home! 🌪

Apr 01, 2016 10:06 AM

Just letting you know I won't be back on until power is restored. Tornado sirens went off about 7:45 am and we lost power as I was dressing. It crossed through our town, about 3 blocks over from our subdivision, causing mostly downed trees and metal buildings, some bricks too. Theyre waiting for confirmation if it actually touched down here or was trying to add it passed through. Either way, lots of flooding & downed trees & power lines within about a 10 mile radius here. Power out for over 5400 at least count. Tornado went on through multiple countries, touching down at least 2x East of us, and causing road blocks. But thankfully to date no injuries or deaths. I have no internet due to outrage so trying to reserve my GB data; it's low. Praying power will be restored before we lose our freezer & refrigerated foods. Hugs & prayers for all to have a gold & safe weekend! 🙂💕🙏🌼

Prayers for you , your family, friends and the community at large!!! I am happy you are safe and unharmed.Love and Blessings, Terri

Thank you both for the prayers. 5 homes totally destroyed, 250 sustained damage. Businesses damaged. The EMA & Weather people will be traveling the path the storm took to determine where the tornado exactly touched down. All of my family, friends, & neighbors are fine. Asking community to pitch in and help out with clean up.

We made it on the national news & weather, at Robins AFB.

Glad you are okay. Sorry for the four. So scary

Apr 03, 2016 8:53 AM

Thank Silvrrry. Our oldest daughter works at a daycare, and she said it was very dark there but the kids did really well. They were far enough away not to lose power. Our other daughter arrived at work ahead of it crossing the I-16 interstate nearby, but 2 of her co-workers were caught on the road; they are fine. Very few homes in Warner Robins have basements, and no tornado shelters. About 6-8 years ago 8 tornadoes struck Macon GA. In the 1950-60's a tornado went straight down our main street (Watson Blvd, known as Wellston, GA back then) and nearly wiped the downtown area out. This storm (contained a tornado but unsure if it touched down here yet-professionals tracking path to determine) started east of the AL-GA line and went 50 miles before it dissipated, after the Allentown touchdown. Thankfully no lives were lost the whole way.

Apr 03, 2016 6:43 PM

Wow Flappyslady81 apparently we're neighbors! I'm in Centerville and we had to take shelter to. Scary stuff

Apr 04, 2016 7:32 AM

As much stuff as I've had going on here I am just now reading this, Flappys I am so relieved that no one was hurt or injured! But I am going to be calling my Aunt and Uncle as they live in that area and see if they are doing alright as my Uncle has a heart condition. Prayer's for your community friends and neighbors and everyone affected by this nasty storm! One thing I don't miss about Georgia is the Tornadic weather but boy I sure loved the Blue Ridge Mountings!

Shehaze,
I'm 40 yrs. Old and a mom of 3. My chronic pain started after a car accident 17 yrs. Ago. Two of my three children are adults however, my youngest is 7. I to have days of hopelessness but then I look at my children and I realize I was BLESSED with them for a reason. I have a quote that I use......"MY CHILDREN GIVE ME STRENGTH " and I stay true to that quote!
Your grandchildren need you no matter what!
When I'm sick in bed my family comes to me. I enjoy my family from my bedroom. I know it's not the "ideal" situation but my family doesn't mind.
And although I'm not one to force MY religous beliefs, Always remember.....GOD CAN'T FAIL!

Apr 04, 2016 10:05 AM

I do belive in religion but i am in an abusive situation also and my family is not supportive at all they dont believe that i am in such pain

Apr 04, 2016 10:09 AM

If you don't mind me asking, what state are you in?

Apr 04, 2016 10:19 AM

I'm not familiar with the laws there. I was in an abusive relationship in the past and I understand what that does to you....emotionally, mentally, and physically. At that time I had my mother for support so I was able to get out however, the abuse went on for 5 years and after some time I learned to chanel my emotions. I used my anger to motivate myself and lost 40 lbs.
As far as your family not believing you about your pain, NO ONE knows how your pain feels but YOU! There's always gonna be non believers. That's "their" battle....not yours!
Get angry.....fight back! NOT physically, please don't think I'm telling you to fight anyone.

Apr 04, 2016 10:21 AM

I know you are not telling me to fight i just cant take anymore please please let me die

Apr 04, 2016 10:41 AM

God is within her, she will not fall
God will help her at break of day

Psalm 46:5

Shehaze67, we were blessed in that no lives were lost and only minimal injuries from the storms (tornado bounced and struck Allentown much worse). Thank you for your prayers. Hugs & prayers for you! 🙂💕🙏🌼
