A nice day 💅

I can no longer take care of my toenails, due to OA, fibro, joints, etc. I needed a pedicure so I asked my daughter's to join me; they're 27 & 31. The only time were all usually together is holidays or birthdays. It's been 9 years since my oldest had a pedicure, and 6+ for me. We went to a salon and choose our colors: me, pearl pink; oldest, dark gray (almost black); youngest, neon orange.

As we sat in the chairs I was playing with the massage settings... Oooh, LA, LA! I want one for home!! It went from my hips to my neck, and was gentle but just enough pressure to massage. I was slightly afraid, because last time it was very strong and painful, and I paid for it for 3 days. I also paid for the sugar scrub because my legs and feet were so dry. When we left we've decided to try and do this at least every 2-3 months. I can't wait for the next one! 🙏🌼

I've changed my mind about the massage chair. I've had sciatica all night long & barely slept! The sciatica had only been gone for 2 days from the last flare up. And I think that was from using my TENS unit. Neurologist told me not to use it until I came back from Mayo, so I used it 2weeks ago, and the very next day sciatica raised its claws! 🙏🌼

I have the same issue with those massage chairs, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Melram1981. I wish I'd made my pain specialist appt sooner. It's not until 11/16, and that's an evaluation. I haven't had continuous sciatica in 2-3 years; just a flare here and there that could be improved by changing positions. Not so with these two flares. I'm trying to figure out why I wrote a TENS unit without problems until I wore it 2 weeks ago. Of course they haven't let me use it since the tremors started in February. I'm almost afraid to have a physical massage. I'm icing, using voltaren gel, and warm showers. Hopefully it won't last too long. 🙏🌼

Weezie I think I would have been OK. But I just had to do the "knocking" and low back. Should have kept to the shoulders and neck only, without the knock. What's really weird is the pain in my right leg shots downward from just under the knew to just above the ankle, and only the inner side of the leg. It's like an electric shock! 😨 The left is straight from the lumbosacral down to the foot, in the back & putter side. It is a shouting pain but more tolerable than the right. 🙏🌼

Those massage chairs are awful! I'm sure for people that are not in chronic pain they're great. I have so many tender spots up and down the sides of my spine. I've asked the manicurist/pedi people to turn the chair off. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience FlappysLady! I hope you heal quickly! ✌️💜

Anonymous, it was just a very gentle pressure, until I changed the settings. Lol... Live and learn! I'll turn them over from now on. 🙏🌼

Oh Flappsy, I'm sending gentle {{{{Hugs}}}} your way. I'm happy for you that you had such a wonderful time with your girls but I'm sorry the massage chair caused you a problem. At least next time you'll know not to use the knocking part. I went for my very first pedicure 2 years ago and I used the massage on gentle and it wasn't too bad. I left the place and told my cousin I'd never have a pedicure again because I really didn't enjoy it. I hope you get too feeling better soon and that your pain management consult goes well. Love, hugs and prayers my friend. 💕🙏🏻🌻
