A out ready to fall apart

May 14, 2015 8:06 AM

Hi ! Guts well it has been a very stressful day. Not only for myself but my daughter and granddaughter. I can't belive she is going to be 1 month b old next Friday, I digress she had to go to UMTB in League City close to Galveston Tx. to see a pediatric orthopedic Dr there about her hips. He checked her and said that she has to wear a brace for the next 3 weeks when she has to go b back for a follow up to see how she is doing. This brace goes n over her shoulders across her little chest down to her hips all the way around down both legs and feet. The b material b is so rough and she can't wear anything between her skin and the brace.

Wow!!!! How's she doing now?

We have to carry her back on the 3rd of June. She is such a joy to be around she is a good baby the brace doesn't seem to faze her at all. I think it is helping if only it wasn't rubbing her skin and under her little arms, her neck, under her knees. Be fore she got it everytime we would change her diaper sherv we out scream like we were killing her, but now she rarely cries.I'm asking everyone to keep her in their prayers. I carried her to the Dr this morning and she weighs 6 lbs 7 oz's. I don't imagine y'all remember she weighed 4 lbs 12 oz's when she'd was born.

You know Weezie, you can get pieces of very soft fabric and put it around the parts of the brace that irritate the baby's skin. They make a cloth that is so soft and (fibro fog) I can't remember what it's called. I hope that the brace puts everything in order and that she is alright. My prayers are with you all.

Mole skin! It's found in foot products because it's used to pad form shores, corns, and bunions. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

THANK YOU, I knew if anyone would know it would be you, Flappsy... I kept trying to think of the name and you came to the rescue.. If they use the mole skin at the areas that irritate the baby's skin, that should help.

I'm not positive but I think it has adhesive on one side. And it's thin but very soft. My brother showed it to me. πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Thanks y'all I haven't even thought about moleskin I have Cut up several of her little soft wash cloths and I am using those but they don't want to stay put. I'm going to try and find some and use it instead of all those little pieces of cloth.

Weezie, sorry I just now saw this but you can also use a very thin layer of lambs wool to keep her delicate little skin from rubbing.

I wore a body cast for 8 months after a back surgery. My point is they sell the lining (soft cotton) looks like a tube sock not expensive at all. We would cut a 3 foot length and attach it to the bottom of the lining in my cast and pull through the cast and poof I had a new clean fresh lining. Kinda gross thinking about it now...lol. The day the cast came off I took the longest bath ever.

Thaks Amanda that's a good idea ,Flappsy she is growing she weighs 7.10 now and she has started filling out in her cheeks, arms and legs. She's already cutting two teeth and she's just 7 weeks old. My daughter is doing a little better getting up at night with her. She asked me this morning why the baby was always reaching for me to take her and would eat better for me. I told her that she feels her not having any patients with her and her being frustrated about having to get up during the night with her, I told her that Bella can sense how she fills. My husband and I have to take her to Galveston for her ultrasound on the 17th. We are tr UK ng to make it an over night trip because it's 168 miles from home and it's hard on the baby going and coming back on the same day. Her appointment is at 9 am so we would have to leave home at 3 am to get there in time for her appointment. Then we have to see her Dr in League City at 1:30 that afternoon. Then we can come home.

Oops accidentally hit the wrong button. It's a hard trip on us grandparents also. Lol it didn't use to bother us when we were younger. I guess I'm doing a little better getting a little more rest than before it is so hard not gett in ng up wit the baby at night when she starts crying, it is sooo hard to just lay there and listen to her crying. But I'm doing it. My Daughter told me they was getting a apartment, I told her that if they did it wouldn't be about 3 days and their neighbors would be calling CPS on them for letting her screaming for so long at night every night. I told her we might not get her back. She hasn't mentioned moving out again. It scares me to death that the baby won't be taken care of. LMB I never even thought about that. I wonder where I could get it at. Sorry I was so long winded.

Make frequent stops on your trip so it's not so hard on your body. I'm praying for a date trip and a good outcome for Below and you ail! πŸŒΌπŸ™

Any medical supply store or look online Amazon has everything. Lol. Had I not sold my house you could have stayed there. I lived in League City for 28 years. Small world.
