After effects of stress

Jul 19, 2016 7:53 PM

Hi all.
So my body is revolting to the stress of getting called into that meeting.
Any tips, besides don't stress, on how to deal with the after effects?
Muscle cramps, jaw pain, face pain, headache, spine locked up, digestive upset and random tingling. Advil and robaxin only meds.

I try to find somethingthat relaxes me like listening to music or stretching. Just something to take my mind "off" the pain. Sometimes it helps

Can you get lost in a movie or book or even music? Do you do any crafts? Anything to occupy your mind. I try to get lost in anything that takes the focus off what is stressing me. Much harder to do than one would think. You are definitely in my daily thoughts.

I watched zootopia. It's super cute and fun. And no i dont have kids and neither does the guy i get the cartoons from. We are just children at heart. And a bonus of not having kids is that i get to watch frozen (and other cartoons) as much as i want and not on repeat. One day last year it was snowing and one of us started singing "do you wanna build a snowman" (i can't remember who there were 3 of us on without kids that like cartoons and we all were singing after it got started) and one of the guys with young kids flipped and said he came to work to get away from frozen. Poor guy doesn't enjoy cartoons anymore.

Warm bath or shower. Nice calming herbal tea. Comfort food. Heating pad.

Gotobef, I would suggest deep breathing and gentle stretching, visualization, meditation, biofeedback, listening to quiet music that you enjoy that will relax you, a warm bath in a dark bathroom with candles and music. That was always my go to but since I can no longer get in and out of the tub, I can't rely on that one any more. Shame because it always made me relax and even sleep better. I hope you find a method that works for you. Gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers for better stress relief. 💕🙏🏻🌻😊
