I have CRPS in both of my arms. I've never much liked the cold even from an air conditioner but now it causes me to flare. Give me hear any day!! I carry around a sweater every where I go, wear sweatpants went I'm at home, and turn the air on 75 in the car and then close all the vents on my side. It keeps it cooler in there but not blowing directly on me.
Hi Deb, I have OA so I can understand about the ac making you flare up. With me, when traveling I always have to wear a pair of long pants even on the hottest of days. I can't have the ac blowing directly on my feet or knees or that will cause issues big time. Have gotten to the point were I travel with a fuzzy blanket, extra pair of thick socks and ac turned off my feet. Otherwise, I'm just aching the whole trip.
I have fibromyalgia and am alway hot and run my ac all the time. I have found the switching temperatures from inside to outside makes me flare. Even if it is just a quick trip to the store. In the car I turn off ac and roll windows down a ways from home. For inside the house if I am not going anywhere I just run the ac. If I have to go somewhere which I try to do in the morning I use a fan and/or turn the ac to a few degrees cooler than outside. Other days there is just no happy medium. Good luck
Debmedina, I don't have CRPS but I have osteoarthritis and sjogrens, and they've hinted at Raynaud's. Air blowing directly on my joints make me hurt. And with the sjogrens my sinuses and throat stay so dry I can't swallow. My hubby cranks the car air full blast and I have to close it on my side & sometimes turn it down. I completely understand...brrr! 🙏🌼
