And I have a DATE!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

Aug 25, 2016 6:45 PM

So, went to the doc this afternoon(Thank you Alwayz and Flappys for encouraging me to keep that appointment). It was just a chatty appointment today thankfully. But I got what I needed. I am having a NovaSure endometrial ablation and hysteroscopy scheduled for 9/16/2016 with general anesthesia. Apparently, Medicare won't cover NovaSure being done at our local surgery center, but that is just fine. I'd much rather be completely unaware of what is going on at that point.
What I have is called dysfunctional uterine bleeding and it most certainly is dysfunctional at this point.
I started to kind of get emotional this afternoon as I waiting for the bus to come get me. This issue was pretty much ignored by the gyn that I was seeing prior to switching over to my current one(in the same practice). I am so thankful that somebody is FINALLY listening to me and willing to take a chance with it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm currently spoonless and I need to go to bed. I spent WAY too much energy getting emotionally ready for that appointment.

Hi Manda 🌹
I had an exploritory hystero-thing-a-me-jig ⚘due to constant heavy erratic bleeding and pain... they removed 2 lumps... 🌼one from my overy and one from my cervix... both benign... and then fitted me with a coil 🌻that releases hormones to stop me constantly bleeding! It works well... lasts 5 years. 🌹
I also have massive ammounts of fibrous tissue post 2 c-sections 16+20yrs ago... but everything else was ok down there...🤗 and it is such a 😶relief to not be contantly flooding anymore! I wish u good luck sweetheart.🌹😐..lets hope u get sorted once and for all 🤗

Glad you got what you needed Amanda!! It pays to keep your appointments when there is something important on the line.

Lulabell, He did ask if I wanted to go ahead and do an IUD instead of doing the ablation. My answer at that time was NO, absolutely not. Primarily because of the pseudotumor and the link with Mirena.

Also, just got a little bit of confirmation. It WILL be a late OR time this time around as well. Looks as though it might be around 2 pm EST. I have grown to HATE late OR times, especially when it means NO morning coffee!!!! But it's worth it for me....

Hi amanda, I was just reading through everyones comments. Gosh this site is a wealth of information with soooo many caring souls. I am 48 and had a hysterectomy at 40 due to constant heavy bleeding and the onset of menopause at 37. I had the ablation also about 6mths prior to the hysterectomy, it didn't work out for me.
I've been on hormone replacement therapy since then, but can I say it's been great not having to put up with constant bleeding. I started early, age 11 so by 40 I was well and truly over it.
Good luck sweetie, I really hope that the procedure helps you 🌻😊

Ouch, I totally feel you on that one. I started at the age of 9, so by now(35) I'm totally over it already!!!!!!!
