I knew it would happen eventually, and it's my dog's fault, but he didn't mean to. I had just put up the bath towels and closed the closet door. My dog was right at my feet wanting to play and he turned loose of his ball. As I was walking forward the ball rolled right under my foot... Down I went! 😵 I threw my arms out to catch myself and tried to fall on my hip (more padding). In fifteen minutes I started stiffening up all in my back and neck, and a headache. Oh joy just what I needed! And my dog knows because he's sulking. Poor pup, he just wanted to play. 😔
OMG.... You poor lady, Flappsy!! I am so very sorry that happened to you. I know that with 2 dogs in my house, I am always looking around the floor as I walk for bones, stuffed animals and the pups themselves so I don't fall over them. One day my big dog, Hope, the bullmastiff was laying across the living room floor like a speedbump and when I stepped over her, she decided to get up and over I went. I guess I must have nudged her with my foot because she has never ever gotten up when you step over her. She has never done that since but doggie toys laying around can definitely be a hazzard. I hope that you feel better really soon and that nothing is seriously injured. All my very best to you and as always you will be in my prayers.
I am sorry that happened to you flappy. Today hasnt been a good day for me either. We are in the sam club. Except you are having physcal pain. I hope you get to feeling better real soon. I wish I could have a pet. My wife says she is allergic to them. I find that she is allergic to anything she doesn't like.. I hope you pup cheers up soon to.
Thanks everyone. I'm stiff for sure but at least I didn't break a bone. And I have muscle relaxers so hopefully by tomorrow night or Monday I will be fine. My neck hurts the worst, real stiff & achy. My poor pup knows he was somehow responsible and he's just laid around. Poor baby, he didn't mean to. Hope everyone has a good night!
Flappys I'm so sorry, ice, heat & rest today. Your pup is intuitive so he knows You love him💜. I've come to the conclusion that I have a head the size of Texas, I have fallen and fractured my skull, fallen and bounced it off concrete, been kicked several times by horses, head butted by a big ol stud horse and smacked it on a car window in a car wreck. I think a helmet is in order for me... Lol
Hey Profiler, I think you should go to a local rescue and bring home a young adult dog. (Either that or look into a therapy dog because you would definitely qualify to have one). It would do amazing things for your mental well being and give you the company of someone who will love you unconditionally. I guarantee, if the doctor said it was something that would help you, your wife would agree, simply because it would be a reprieve for her (Such a shame she thinks that way). Flappsy, I hope that your pain from the fall has eased some today and that you are feeling a bit better. (Because a little bit better is better than a little bit worse). I hope everyone in the community has a blessed and peaceful Sunday and enjoys the sunshine and warmer weather.
I'm doing better today. I feel stiff but that's all. I'm guessing the previous owners played with the dog and their feet or scholls because he tried to grab my slipper today. I think obedience training is in order! Profiler, you would enjoy a dog! 🙏🌼
Saw the Ortho doc yesterday because in the past week and a half I noticed an area of semi to complete numbness & itching in a 6-8" radius of my mid thoracic spine. Yes I actually got to see the, doc instead of his jerk NP...yay! The doc did xrays and examined the area. He said it was very swollen but didn't see damaged discs. He said the swelling was pinching the nerves and gave me a shot of Toradol... Burn! Lol I'm to ice it and take my muscles relaxers then see him in 6 weeks. So glad it's not a disc problem! Still trying to train the pup to stay away from my feet... Not a smart dog! Lol 🙏🌼
The dog will eventually get the hang of not going around your feet and tripping you up. I am really glad that you were able to see the doctor as opposed to the NP... I have had that numbing feeling in my thoracic spine and also an itching that has been very strange. I get a very strong itch and when I scratch it, it seems like the skin is numb and the itch is very deep inside my body. As soon as I am done scratching, the itch comes right back. I have already stood in front of my Mother and had her take her nails and really scratch the itch and it does go away while she's scratching (She can't do it too hard because then she hurts me), however, as soon as she stops, the itch comes right back and I have to have her scratch again.. Sometimes we do that two or three times in a row and then there is no more itch for a while.. Pretty weird, huh?? Anyway, just thought I would share. Keep us posted as to how the anti inflammatory works and what he tells you when you go back. You are in my thoughts and prayers... all the best!!!
Flappsy, I agree, we have so many things in common, I know that if we met one another, we would be fast and forever friends... I think we were twins somewhere along the line!!! LOL!!! I was just in the living room and had to stop and have Mom scratch and I said, Damn, I have that numbness again but that itch is so powerful, it's driving me nuts. She had to scratch pretty hard in one area for a few minutes at a time four times before I could walk away without the itch.... I hate it.. Sometimes I stand in a doorway and scratch against the door frame like a bear on a tree!!
Oh Flappsy I hope you have recoverd from your fall , I know your dog realizes what he did poor baby. I know how deadly they can be, we have 7 going from 8 lbs to 85 lbs. All I can say is don't get between them and the door when someone ask who needs to go potty. I have almost been knocked off my feet I can't count the times or knocks off the steps coming in the house. Lol they can be deadly.
