Another doctor's visit.. Advice needed

Jul 31, 2017 5:08 PM

Long story short, both my knees as well as my ankles have been hurting on and off for several months. Not enough for me to be bed ridden but enough that I can't really focus on anything too important.

Now that I've started in a new job where I stand 6-8 hours a day, five days a week and my knees have began to hurt with every step I take, my ankles hurt and "crunch". (I have food and supportive work shoes btw.)

Anyway, since I don't think I can handle another 10 hour day at work without knowing for sure if my knees are gonna give up all of a sudden, I'm gonna call my doctor tomorrow.

How should I explain my situation to the doctor? I'm kind of afraid to seem like I'm faking it if I tell the doctor how bad I feel..

Plus, because there's so much "wrong" with me, I'm afraid that there's isn't actually anything wrong and that I'm just imagining things..

Oh, I'm 19 years old, normal weight, have exercised my entire life: danced for 14 years. Have been told I have hypermobile joints.

Hi 👋🏼Have you had a look at the symptoms of hyper mobile Elnos dahnlos syndrome?

Your more likely to have that with the hyper mobile joints and it can cause the pain your having.

Hey! I just looked some of them up but I don't think my symptoms are as bad or as dramatic as the ones on Wikipedia for example

HeyItsMe you can get it very mildly also just being hypermobile can cause pain in your joints I would just ring them and explain your struggling and get a appointment, I know how you feel with the thinking your faking it I have had that a lot but just persist and you will get there in the end! You can always message me if you need a chat!

Hi @ HeylitlsMe. My opinion is to just straight out tell the doc that your knees and ankles has been hurting a lot while walking or standing too long . Maybe they will do an exra .

Best of luck. Keep us updated
