Antibiotic resistant H pylori infection

Nov 01, 2016 6:43 AM

I have been dealing with this infection since early September and I am miserable! My first round of antibiotics lasted 3 weeks...gave me unbelievable belly issues, a thrush infection in my mouth, nausea and vomiting, not to mention that I couldn't eat. Once the antibiotics were finished I started these migraine headaches that scared the hell out of me! Now here I am, I went to the doctor on Friday told her what was going on, she did another test for the H pylori infection to make sure we are treating the right issue. My problem is that all of the symptoms have returned and they are worse than before...I told my doctor this...her advice, a bland diet.. THAT IS IT!!! If our doctors had to deal with even a small portion of the symptoms that we deal with for any extended period of time I guarantee you that they would be finding a way to get some freaking answers!!! What is it going to take? I pray to God above every day for guidance and help and it feels like it never comes. My days are so dark right now and I don't see any light, I really need some prayers and a hopeful miracle! Soft hugs friends!!!

JulieK, I am so sorry you're going through this. I sustained MRSA when I had my last surgery. I had tumors in my abdomen on the left and right side. The left no problem, healed up, easy peasy.. The right. 4 days after surgery, 104.5 fever, dilerium, massive leakage, etc.. go to surgeon and he put me on Bactrum for 5 days (5 days!!!) meds gone, problem rages.. he kept telling me at each visit no worries, better out than in, made fun of me. I endured 9 months of it getting worse and trying to get a doctor to help me. Wound care wasn't covered and I didn't have $1200 a visit and the supplies. At any rate, found another doctor, found out I had MRSA, the infection had eaten a canyon all the way to my pelvic bone and then started making little tributaries. Ended up back in the hospital and had a 4 hour surgery to get rid of all the dead crap in there and put me back together. I have no idea why I just went through that whole thing, I'm sorry.. LOL!! I hope that you find a doctor to help you. You can't go on like that.. sending best wishes, positive vibes and good karma.. please try to hang in there. It will get better... (then worse, then betterπŸ™„). It is what it is, but you CAN do this and you have a community full of wonderful people who can help distract you and will help you through. {{{Hugs}}}πŸ’• Let us know what comes back in the blood test result.

My doctor called yesterday and I'm blessed to say that there is no H pylori infection!!! Whoop whoop!!! She did say that if I'm not feeling better by Friday to come in and have more blood work done ugh ugh ugh! I was able to have a bit of dinner with my husband last night...it felt so good to have hot food on my stomach. πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž
