I feel really overwhelmed today. I'm going to have to find a new therapist because my insurance is changing, I can barely afford the treatments that help my chronic pain, and I really need to be able to work more but I'm not able to physically. I'm stuck in a cycle of stress and pain that would be so much easier if I didn't have to be afraid of loaing my job. I have a group of supportive friends but I don't want to weigh them down all the time. I think they forgey that I am in pain all the time and it feels lonely and hopeless sometimes. I'm new to this app and I guess I am hoping to find and give some support.
Lizzz first off hello and welcome. I am sorry that you are having to deal with everything, it is all scarey and absolutely overwhelming. I understand insurance changes that force us to change care givers we know and feel safe with. Does your therapist have any suggestions for a new provider? Typically they know other providers in the area and if you can take in a list of names that are on your new insurance they should be able to suggest someone that they feel like would be a good fit for you. It will be a bit bumpy before it settles down. Please hang in there and confide in your friends. If one of your friends were in your shoes they would want to help right? I can share that real friends will stick with you through it all, the good bad and the ugly. Anxiety and stress amps up our bodies and causes us increased inflammation and more pain. Do what you can to maintain the friendships you have. No relationship of any type is ever 50/50 so for now you need more, take it. Just do your best to be there on the flip side. Welcome to the group feel free to vent, pick our brains and settle in.
Hi LMB thanks for your reply. (I'm the original poster, I just had to change my username because I reinatalled the app). I'll be talking with my therapist this week to come up with a plan- I hate the idea of starting all over with someone new but I'm sure I'll eventually adapt. Thank you so much for your encouragement. Especially what you said about friendships.
Bizz, welcome to our community family. I'm sorry you are struggling with the changes brought on by insurance changes. I understand, as I'm going through doctor changes too. It's either due to doctors retiring or insurance issues. My PCP is retiring and I've been under him for over 26 years now. I dread the change. But like LMB said, we just try to do our best. And the community is always here for each other. Hugs & prayers the changes will go smoother than expected! 🙂💕🙏🌼
Shehaze67, we hear you. You're at rock bottom and want to end it all. Please start your own post, introduce yourself by telling the community what you are trying to deal with, what has you ready to give up. Then everyone will be able to focus on your needs and start giving you suggestions, support, answers that could help you cope.
