Any thoughts???

Sep 29, 2015 12:31 PM

I fell down the steps about a week ago and since I have osteogenesis imperfecta I assumed I broke my coccyx. Now I realize it isn't my tail bone but my back. I'm worried because I can't bend over and have literally laid on the couch all week because it hurts to move. Boyfriend thinks it's a compressed spinal fracture and says they won't do anything for that. I'm just worried and really hurting. Any thoughts?

Have you seen a doc for your back?

You should really go and see one. Get an xray or mri or something. Don't mess around with it. Good luck!

Get it checked out..I have a compressed fracture -T-7 vertebrae along with a fractured coccyx from OJI. Go to doctor ASAP you don't want it to get worse. Best of luck - or nearest ER.

What did they do for you Serenity23?

The neurosurgeon performed a vertebra platy which he Injected bone cement into the fractured verbre. After a series of epidurals. Still a lot of pain that I retired early.

Go to the dr.!!!! You should know with osteogenesis imperfects that falling can almost certainly end in a break of some kind, therefore when you fall down steps a trip to the Dr. Is called for. Please go

Gagirl, get to the ER and get checked out. There is always something that can be done and without knowing exactly what your injury is, you don't know if you are doing more harm by not going. I know you're frightened and I would be too. Better to kW and be safe and not sorry. I wish you good luck and will check back to see how you are.

Gagirl, I agree with the others, you need to be seen. At the least they may put you in a back brace until it heals. I wore one for 6 months and it keeps you from making movements that could potentially do more harm, like a cast on a broken arm. But it may not be a fracture, and if it's a herniation pressing a nerve, non treatment could also lead to long term pain. I'll say a prayer for you! (((Hugs))) & positive thinking it will be the least problem with a good treatment for best results. 🙏🌼
