I would change Dr's if your able to. I sat and wrote what I dubbed a pain diary to show exactly what was happening. If you're in the UK request a referral to a rheumatologist/orthopedic specialist depending on your symptoms/diagnosis.
Do you have a diagnosis? I saw a neurologist for several months. He seemed very interested in solving my issues ...at first. Then it became frustrating. Having to remind, retrain, repeat, things my chart (should have) contained.
Antidepressants for fibro do not work for me. Neither do many opioids. So I appear drug seeking and difficult.
I fired him, went back to my gp and scheduled with a rheumatologist friends recommended. So, I had to begin again but discovered that I HAD actually been diagnosed with fibromyalgia by that idiot neuro and was never told or referred for pt, nothing!
Be your own advocate. Don't stand for mediocre. I know finances and insurances restrain us sometimes. This is your life. Find a doc you like, can interact with to your liking and get a plan.
Talk about everything with your Doctor open endedly before reaching to any conclusion. Get the answers of all your why? If you think you aren’t able to get the care you deserve you can freely go to any other physician.
