Anybody dealing with this?

Apr 17, 2016 1:36 PM

I've been really quiet lately, but I've got a problem I just can't put my finger on. Have been having some pretty intense, not pain as it feels like pelvic muscle spasms. This is totally different from normal for me. Normally there is no pelvic discomfort, but this is easily a 4-5. It feels more like a deep pressure. Not on my cycle right now and not due for a couple of weeks. I had an appointment with my pcp last Wednesday but it really wasn't addressed. Have sent in a request for another appointment, but I'm wondering if this is something that could be better addressed by either my obgyn or the urologist(have an appointment Wednesday afternoon). It's frustrating the hell out of me. Also going to the restroom a lot more then normal, but there was no sign of a UTI. Anybody have any ideas/suggestions? Please and thank you.

Maybe talk to a Gastroenterologist, as well? It's possible you're dealing with stomach/digestive issues. Sometimes GI issues can feel like they're coming from other places (like pelvis, upper chest, etc). At least you could rule this kind of thing out.

I hope you feel better!!

I have something you might look up, vulvodynia. It is, in my case, like a red hot knife in and outside of the vulvar area. Hurt so much I was crying and did not sleep at all. I have had it since my teens but everyone is different. Hope this helps in some way.

7, I'll give that a look. It honestly feels like really BAD menstrual cramps but I'm not bleeding. Don't know that makes sense or not. It also feels at times like someone has shoved a boot up my butt as well. Might actually have to go ahead and schedule that GI appointment I've been putting off so long now.

Amanda have you had the CA125 BLOOD work ran? If not see your gyn and insist on a gyno exam n the proper blood work.
Pay it is not ...

Kamel, I have not had a CA125 done. But I did have a diagnostic laparoscopy last October which came back absolutely clean. And multiple ultrasounds in the past year which have all come back clear.
If I don't get any answers from my pcp, I'll see about scheduling an appointment with my gyn. I really am not quite comfortable with my urologist yet to bring this up, but I might need to. Either that or I can insist on a referral to a urogyn upstate.

Good luck Amanda

Yikes, well, there are obviously a lot of tests and DX it could be. I feel like that daily with IBS, so Yes get it checked it out and do let us know how you're feeling.

We've got a lot of sensitive equipment from the waist down. Mine is a mess. Hoping you will discover yours is easily curable and you'll get relief soon.

Hoping to get some kind of relief tomorrow. Have an appointment with my pcp at 10:15 am. Certainly need some resolution to this and quickly.

Have you looked into pelvic floor dysfunction? If your pelvic floor muscles are in spasm it can cause pain and also bladder issues

May 29, 2016 9:25 AM

ami, yes I do have pelvic floor dysfunction unfortunately. In the midst of a flare up from hell. I'm not quite sure if it's all muscle spasms or if there is an underlying IC flare up as well. Hopefully, back to the gyn this week. I need something because I'm still hurting and now, getting woken up by spasms during the night. Which makes for a VERY cranky ME!!!!!

And holy crap, still NOT sleeping through the night. Wednesday CAN'T get here soon enough. Due to see gyn again. Something is not working, hoping we don't have to do the trigger point injections but if worse comes to worse, then by god, I'll do it.

I was diagnosed years ago with interstitial cystitis first by my gym then confirmed with urologist. Have you looked into this

Jun 06, 2016 10:49 AM

Pink, yes I have been diagnosed with IC, but confirmed by urologist through cystoscopy. Gyn is saying that what's going on now is pelvic floor dysfunction.

Have they offered you any treatment options?

Jun 06, 2016 2:30 PM

In terms of the IC, I'm currently on Elmiron for the IC but it's not really holding me. For the PFD, physical therapy is the only thing we have tried yet. Oh, I'm sorry. A diagnostic lap was done back in October but was completely negative for endometriosis or anything of that sort.
