I absolutely HATED Cymbalta!! It was terrible!! I was nauseous and depressed while on it. I never went past the initial start dose but it was TERRIBLE!! I was so upset by the nausea, depression, fatigue, and lack of HELPFULNESS I just cried and cried. I begged to come off it. If my doctor hadn't agreed, I would have done it any way.
It's touted as a wonder drug yet it's side effects are far more severe... Rxlist.com lists studies of the side effects. On the painnetwork.com I just read an article about many people suffering while on it, while they were slightly less depressed about hurting they were less of everything- they had no sex drive, no creativity...all they wanted to do was sleep or veg. Apparently coming off it after being on it a long time is EXTREMELY difficult- the article said the withdrawal symptoms could last month's!! I don't know who this drug really works for (except the pharma companies)....
I've been on it over a yr, it helps me, it's just my back issues are far worse so I'm 8n pain with it all of the time. Thinking of quitting cymbalta even though I don't have any side effects from it... I'm just scared after reading the article I posted, that if I do, what the hades will happen.
I was on Cymbalta for about 2 weeks. I started the day before Thanksgiving 2015. I was extremely fatigued and nauseous over the holiday. The worst part is I've had a disorder called Trichotillomania for 17 years. I pull my hair out. I've been fairly decent with not pulling too much and being able to hide it. This medicine caused it to be 1000x worse than ever. I had to put in special accommodations at work so I can work from home everyday because I'm too embarrassed of how bad it's got since I took Cymbalta. My dr put me back on Zoloft for depression because of this. A good friend of mine said she was on Cymbalta years ago and it caused her to pull all of her eyelashes out so she also had to be taken off of it. I HATE this drug!
I haven't had any problems. I don't think. I may be coming off of it though, for the money reasons. I don't have any motivation, but I have major depressive disorder and the pain triggered that into high (low?) gear. I used to write and now I really have no motivation or desire to, but my sex drove is just as overactive as ever lol. I'll let you know, if I go off of it, if anything changes. As for the nausea, that went away after a week. Really haven't noticed anything else, but it has helped with the pain and even the depression some.
I had the exact same awful experience on Cymbalta, yuck and more yuck! I have heard some good things about the butrans patch! I go to pain management next week and will inquire about the patch.... I don't want narcotics so hopefully this will help with my pain.Love and Blessings, Terri

I'm taking the generic of Cymbalta for fibromyalgia. I have been taking it since November of last year. I haven't noticed any crazy symptoms. I started having less unmanageable pain days until recently. Now, the pain has started being awful again.
I'm taking cymbalta and apart for some initial shakes and nausea I've found it helpful. Having said that I am still exhibiting physicial reactions t of stress, crying most days and having mild panic attacks. Something I have never experienced before.
