Anyone have pain in the middle out outer buttox?

Aug 31, 2015 10:05 PM

It's killing me especially when I lay on that side.

Aug 31, 2015 10:24 PM

I'm not sure I understand. Do you mean around the tailbone?

Aug 31, 2015 10:26 PM

No, like 3 inches toward the outside of your tailbone

Aug 31, 2015 10:37 PM

Maybe. I get pain in my lower back near the tailbone, and my shoulders/neck/head.

That is the area I always burn and it feels like hot coals, but I was dx with Tarlov cyst

Chelsea, I've had pain in my mid to order buttocks for years. It's all connected to problems with my lumbar & sacral-iliac joints. And the fibro too sometimes. It seems certain movements aggravate the sciatica and it hurts to even though. Squatting or bending to the floor (pick up things or tie shoes) instantly causes muscle tightening, which causes pinched nerves. I've learned not to make movements that trigger it. Ice, heat, muscle relaxers, and voltaren gel are my treatments.

I hope you feel better soon. 🙏🌼

I had that pain after my surgery. Lasted for about 2 months then I got better. I still feel it at times though very random. Pretty sure it's sciatica. The pain from inside the buttocks shoots down the legs. Could barely walk, twist or even sit.

I hope it goes away for you. If it gives you a lot of pain, you should consult a specialist. Better to know what's going on and maybe it could be a simple fix.

They told me mine was sciatica, it is to the side of the midline of my rear also comes around to the front of my pelvis. My mri for my lumbar spine started in the low thoratic spine which showed I have a flattened spinal cord around T11 and they say that is also the culprit of my scaticia. They told me it was not all the disc issues of my lumbar spine or the arthritis. I am going back for another mri of my neck and middle back. Then on to neuro surgeon. I don't care what they call it I just need a solution no pain meds help.

Yep, sham, that's about what mine feels like as well but Mine is down my right hip and butt, but also I feel it on my tailbone if I sit too long. Doesn't go down my whole leg, only to about knee level.

Amandamiddleton1234 don't put off going to the doctor and insist on an mri. Lumbar issues aren't that big as deal as the neck or mid back, from what I have been reading and if I understand it correctly, due to your spinal cord ending at the last lumbar and just nerves the rest of the way. Again my understanding is if the neck or mid back spinal cord is injured it can be as bad as nerve damage forever and even paralysis.

Sham, they have already done 2 mris at this point. Shows no evidence of any herniation. Just DJD in the spinal facet joints. Hence the shots in July and tomorrow.

Good luck Amanda hoping you get some relief. It never ceases to amaze me how pain touches every part of your life. Hang in there!

A coccyx pillow helps when I'm having the sciatic pain. 🙏🌼

My friends have had great success with chiropractic adjustments for siatica. So far I have never had a surgery fix any pain. In fact I think I have had more problems because of surgery. So much for the magic in The Houston Texas Medical Center and I throughly checked out every physician. :(

I cannot squat my knees to pick up something from the floor. Getting up is so painful!

Sep 03, 2015 9:28 AM

Sue0413, I can't do that any more either.. If I fall, I have a hell of a time getting up because I can no longer kneel, my knees are so degenerated that the pain is way too bad. Also having gained a lot of weight as my issues have worsened doesn't help. Hypothyroidism isn't conducive to losing weight either. People look at me and think I eat all the time and the funny thing is, I eat so little that I may be malnourished at times.

Alwayzinpain I am sorry for your pain too. The gaining weight, my antidepressants did that and I don't eat much either. I do eat healthy for the most part and drink my water.
The bottom of my feet, I have like a numbness from the balls of my feet to my toes. They feel swollen, but they are not. I swear the numbness is like the dentist shot me with novacaine. It started about 3-4 months ago and hasn't let up.
Today, my lower back has almost had me paralyzed. It is so bad the pain meds are not helping at all.

Sue0413, I'm sorry that you are in such agony today. I hope and pray that the pain releases its grip and you can get some relief. I also try to eat well too. Most of the time I'm not even hungry. People just automatically judge me by my appearance and thing that I must do nothing but sit and eat all day. Kind of sad but my doctors know what I eat and what my body is going through and that's all that really matters I guess. I hope you have a better day. 🌻🙏🏻

Sue, I was having a lot of tingling and stinging pain in my feet, and major swelling up to my knees. My cardiologist did an ultrasound and found I have venous reflux, so he put me in compression stockings. I still get the symptoms some, but not every day not as severe. There's also similar symptoms with fibromyalgia. Have you checked out www.living-smater-with-fibromyalgia.com? You're in my prayers. 🙏🌼
