Please help me out. I would like to know if anyone is in the same situation as I am.. I'm suffering with chronic pain after the surgery but never had pain before the surgery :(
I want to know what others felt after surgery..

Hi, I had fusion of s1-L5, was helpful to me not a cure nor total pain relief. Done in 2013. Not sure how to track these posts as this is my first here. I will add more later if I can find u again😎

I started out with pain over twenty years ago starting in my left shoulder. It was intermittent then constant. I had surgery to repair it, everything snowballed and I ended up having six surgeries on that shoulder. The pain escalated, spread randomly and now, there really isn't anywhere I can say doesn't hurt. I have several issues including fibromyalgia, and pain levels of 8/10 ON medication. I hope that your situation doesn't get that bad and that your pain diminishes over time. Good luck to you.

All of my T-spine is fused with the old school Harrington Rod. The rod is made of 316L stainless steel that is well know to have corrosion over time which goes into the blood system and causes many inflammatory issues- I have most of them. I think most of my issues are metalosis caused. If I could get insurance or disability maybe I could further explore. Gotta love being punished for being financially responsible and working hard for as long as possible. Yes my back hurts, I actually feel my rod pulling and the tip pokes me when I look straight up. Think lighting strike down your back.

I'm sorry to hear your issues caused, thank you for sharing, I fortunately don't feel my rod (which is titanium). Yes,the worst things happen to the best people.. Unfortunately

Harris uou seem wise beyond your years. Titanium seems to have less issues leaching out into our bodies but I bet your screws are stainless. You can go to medical records and get the actual surgical report that will have all of the information on it. Most hospitals charge a small fee for printing just a few bucks. I feel like it is a good thing to have as well as a picture of your x-rays saved in your cell for emergencies or travel. That way if you are ever in an accident the doctors have information right there to compare. So simple and easy. It would be hard to tell if your rods moved without a comparison. If you want to talk just give me an email and I will send you my cell. I have been down the same road.

I will check out my surgical report about that. I definitely already have a picture saved on my mobile. Emailing would be very helpful!

Yup it seems everything was fine before I just sat crooked - after Herrington Rod surgery n I guess no physical therapy after due to getting the surgery as a teen n now it seems my body still wants to turn n even worse the muscles are causing knots that are reeking havoc on my body- killing my tailbone ,getting into my ribs from my shoulders n causing chest pain , I can list shoulders hurting two ways from the back shoulder blade to the sides which suck which trying to sleep cause both shoulders hurt- n I pop n crack a whole lot... Boy it seems like my back is just turning everything against me

I was fused from T2 to L4. I had pain before surgery but now my pain has escalated to an extreme amount. I'm on medication but it doesn't always last/work. The pain has become unbearable

I have a Harrington rod that has all of my T spine fused.I found out that 67% pecent of them leech rust into your body untimely adding to or causing autoimmune issues. Mine gas been in for a very long time. I am not happy and want it out. Unfortunately they are afraid to remove it because it could cause me to have to live in a wheelchair.
