Hey all, I just wanted to share that I have improved so much since starting the aquarobics my PT recommended. I haven't been able to tolerate any other exercise--including walking! I have also learned that I need evening classes. Morning classes are too hard on me. But, I'm exercising 2x a week and it really helps! :)

So glad you've found something that helps.

It was really hard to start because I was scared it would just put me in more pain. But the water makes all the difference. I have been able to increase the workout intensity at my own pace, and I feel much more stable now that I am moving

Jani, is it in a heated pool? I have Sjogrens and likely Raynaud's. I any tolerate cold water pills or hot tubs, extreme temp changes. It sounds like something if like to do. 🙏🌼

I have been doing it also twice a week. The pool is set to 91° it's perfect for the exercise. It's really made a difference I can walk a little bit longer now before I have to sit down. I think evening classes would be great for me too but I can't because of my job

It is the normal pool temp, but it is amazing how your body heats up when you start moving!

@ Jani and luvsdragracing-
I am So glad that water aerobics is working well for you. I wish that they had water aerobics at the YMCA in my area, because I can't afford a gym membership. I use the pool at my apartment complex during the summer months.

Good luck! God Bless!

There are different types of water aerobics, so I would search aquarobics specifically. I go to a community center pool, but I pay the aquarobics people directly. They take care of all the pool and facility fees. It ends up costing me about $10 for an hour. I would rather pay that than drs office and med co-pays.

Mine is through Nova Care and since they are regular PT my insurance is paying for it.

I recently joined our health club, to be able to use their pool. I can't do any other exercises or machines.
