Arm still out of commission... 😖

Sep 15, 2016 8:56 AM

Saw the doctor yesterday received an injection on top of the shoulder in a muscular knot that goes from the clavicle to the scapular. I heard from the neck to the Elbow and front to back. I'm to start Physical Therapy Friday to jump through all the hoops. The physician assistant also said I have tennis elbow but I'm not convinced of that . I am using a splint at the elbow and the other day I had my carpal tunnel splint on as well . If I could have had a shoulder splint I would have used it too! LOL my hubby came home and said I look like a train ! I am am dictating with the microphone on the keyboard so if a post looks weird I apologize. I hope you catch up with all the post because I'm 9 days behind. Wishing everyone as low pain day as possible. Hugs love and prayers!🙂💕🙏🌸

Flappsy, I'm so sorry that you are going through this. Have you tried using a sling? That's about the only shoulder brace I could think of. It may give you some relief by taking pressure off of your shoulder.
I wish I had some other suggestions for you but I don't. Is the injection he gave you supposed to break up the knot and therefore give you some pain relief? I hope that it does something for you because you've been through enough. Sending you gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that things get better real soon my friend.💕🙏🏻🌻😊

Star, I'm glad to hear that Pat is doing well. I know that it's due to your care and walking with her and getting her up and out and being by her side. You took good care of your Uncle Eddieray as well as taking care of Pat. I know you're a strong young lady and always remember that you have all of us behind you when you need someone to lean on. No man is an island unto himself.. That's a very true statement. We all need someone at some time. Just know I'm here if you need me. Sending gentle {{{Hugs}}}} and prayers that you get to feeling less pain. Give my best to Pat as well.💕

Star, it's so great to hear from you! I am so glad Pat is doing well and keeping up with her walking! Keep holding your head high and remember that we are here for you as well. Your Uncle was a Special Man and will always be missed by us all. Sending you lots of love hug's and Prayer's Hun.😘💖🌹🌞

Thanks for the hugs, love, prayers & all! And Star, thanks for the offer to take my pain, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. AlwayZ is right about handling it all on our own. EddieRay was special, and I can't even begin to think I could ever not complain. But my grandma was like that. I'm glad to hear Pat's doing so well. Hopefully you can start feeling improvement not too far from now; I'm praying so!

I'm only guessing the injx was to break up the knot and relieve pain. The knot is smaller than last night, but it's still very noticeable with the eyes. My hubby said it went from a goose egg to a chicken egg. But to me it feels like an ostrich egg! 😉 Lol What's really hard is I'm taking very short showers and only partially drying my hair, but it causes the pain to radiate all the way to the fingers, and it's like throbbing, screaming pain for several hours. I really fear I tore something, but they've only done x-rays so far. Holy cow it's hurting now just from the TV remote use & eating supper.

Just an update... Had PT today. The injx was a mix of lidocaine and steroid, to reduce pain & inflammation. The therapist said it's possible my shoulder is a little offset, as it does look and feel cocked forward, but the x-ray doesn't show an actual dislocation. He asked me to lift it forward and overhead, then out and overhead, but it would not go up much in either direction. He said the muscles were definitely right all the way from front to back and neck to wrist. He said he thought it might be a really bad sprain with tennis elbow and CTS and neuropathy all playing off each other. He did heat then slowly rotated/wound/cranked my shoulder in one direction then the other, multiple times, them massaged the whole shoulder and upper arm region, then heat again. The knot is slightly decreased and the shoulder feels less painful. I have exercises to do and go back every Friday for three weeks. Who would have thought a sprain would cause so much pain? I do now! He did tell me to rest using my gadgets so it's going to take several days to catch up. Hugs love & prayers everyone has a good weekend! 🙂💕🙏🌸
