Hi Michelle! I suffer from RA and fibro both, and I can definitely tell a difference. Even when I am battling both at the same time. With my RA, my pain is in the joints and with the fibro, it's skin, muscles, scalp and nerve pain, ext.... With both I have horrible pain and it's hard to determine which is worse since there is no rhyme or reason to either. The fatigue is overwhelming with either. When I first began to have pain with multiple health issues happening at the same time, I was very confused. I got to where I couldn't tell what was causing the most problem. All I knew is I was in pain! Now I can tell without a doubt, one from the other.
When it's joint pain for me, I can describe it as anywhere from an ache to a crushing pain that before it gets to that level, it can feel like a hot poker going right into the joint area. Does this help?
I am addicted to my rice and corn bags. Heat them for 3 min. The y hold a moist heat that seems to be of help. Also if you have any compression clothing, it helps.I hope you're beginning to get relief from your pain. I'm so sorry. 😢

My mom started making them years ago to give for gifts and they are wonderful! She used field corn. After you make one, whether it be a sock or however, heat it and let it cool . repeat 3 x's before using just to kill any micro-organisms that may be in the corn. The one's my mom made were more like a small corn pillow. She used muslin to make them and made pillow cases too. Now that I think about it, it probably wouldn't take but a minute or so for a sock.
Michelle, like Sleepingbeauty, I can tell the difference. My OA is in my spine, bones & joints, but my fibro pain is in the muscles and soft tissues. As for the burning it could be fibromyalgia or neuropathies from something else. I have fibro & sjogrens, which both cause neuropathies. They dx sjogrens last spring, and its begin to affect the joints in my fingers, with warm to hit painful swelling (fluid-puffy). We had the cold front come in today and we are dropping to 25 tonight, after being in the 50-60ss at night. I'm already getting very stiff as the cold is seeping into my bones. I'm about to go find my cuddle duds to sleep in! I oppose you can figure out what's going on, because knowing what we are fighting is half the battle of dealing with it. Hugs & prayers! 😷🙏🌼
