Arthritis in hands

Apr 23, 2017 5:09 AM

Hi, I'm struggling to grip things due to arthritis in my hands, does anyone know how to combat it please?

There are arthritis gloves you can get. They're stretch gloves that fit snuggly on your hands. They help a little. I don't know if Tylenol Arthritis would help or not. I'm going to try it. That's all my doc will give me.

There's also aleve. It's also known as naproxen. I was on a much heavier dose. But maybe it could help you.

I use CBD oil and just rub it in my knuckles and wherever it hurts. It seems to take the pain away in as little as 15 minutes. It only takes a few drops to get the job done. I have had no results taking it orally. Topically it seems to ease all of my inflammation symptoms. I am using just plain 100 mg CBD oil without and thc.

Gripping anything aggravates my hand & finger joints. I'm so weak in my hand strength due to my neck issues, I have to use rubberized jar gripping openers. I find myself stretching my fingers apart a lot throughout the day, and also rubbing different joints that are hurting. I wear the arthritis gloves but they really only help by keeping my joints warm; cold makes me hurt worse. I can't take antiinflammatories because of ulcers and Barrett's esophagus. I think I'll try that CBD ointment my hubby found at a local store.

I also wear the arthritis gloves like several of you have. Helps minimally. Like FlappysLady they only warm my joints. Stretching Exercises help also. Do them in a large bowl of very warm water and the water will help limber them up. Also if you have a liquid paragon machine for hand arthritis that really helps. I also rub 5% Lidocaine ointment to them and apply the gloves. Hope you can find what works best for you.💕🦋

I’ve been using rubber jar openers to help grip things (I have arthritis in my hands and after shattering my thumb joint, I have little strength in my left hand. Parafin wax dips help to ease some of the soreness.

I agree it does help but it’s only temporary. I to have to use rubber discs to help open jars. Sometimes still can’t do it. Run warm water around the jar and tap around lid. It’s usually the seal that hasn’t broken. Love and best wishes to you.🌺
