Awesome appointment today!!!!!

Jun 08, 2016 8:06 PM

Had what I initially thought was going to be a intense appointment this morning with my gyn. Turns out it wasn't. Still not sleeping real well and the spasms are still waking me up at 3 or 4 in the morning unfortunately. This one was just a touch base kind of appointment to make sure that nothing had changed or worsened which it hadn't. Was given a recommendation for vaginal Valium for muscle spasms. Script wasn't written yet, because my mom asked me to hold off on it to see how well PT progresses and then we can make that decision if needed. Unfortunately for me, because it's a muscle issue there's not a whole lot that can be done. If it had been a uterine issue, then that bad boy would have been out already. Did discuss the possibility of doing trigger point injections, but again he didn't say yes but he didn't say no. It depends on how PT progresses, and we would have to find a urogyn that we are comfortable with. He doesn't do trigger point injections unfortunately. So again, it's just a wait and see kind of thing. Have to go back after PT is done at the end of August or sooner if the need presents itself. Hopefully it won't. That was the best darn appointment I've had in a long time. Mostly because I felt listened to and felt like my needs and concerns were addressed adequately. And also, I think I can say this out loud finally. It's taken me almost a year but I think I'm finally beginning to open up and trust him. And for me, that's easier said then done.

That's very good to hear! There's suppose to be an awesome Urogynecologist in Chicago. My Urogynecologist was going to send me there but I told him I couldn't afford the travel. Good luck finding the best one for you! 🙂💕🙏🌼

It is such a simple gesture to just listen to the patient. Seems like the patient is often left out of the equation. Glad to hear your appointment was a good one!

Flappys, and wouldn't you know it, there IS a urogynecologist about 30 miles up the road from me. But he did ask me to wait until after PT was done and see how things progressed. I'm willing to do that at this point.
