AWOL but have questions

Dec 05, 2017 1:32 PM

NWell. I started this then (poof ) it disappeared. I had a comply left knee replacement yesterday. My question is how do you decide what pain meds will work..i have Nuycenta 100mg with me to take twice a day. They were giving me morphine but that doesnt really help. Mmm, ok dozed off there. Hydrocodone is what they want to try with Nuycenta. What experiences do you have with controlling pain.

I don't think people choose what pain medications work. How well pain medication works depends on how each individual's body processes the medication, their body chemistry, other medications and other conditions. I haven't had a knee replacement, although I'm heading in that direction probably within the next 20 years due to Osteoarthritis. Usually when my knee flares up I alternate between heat and cold compresses, use a knee brace, use Tylenol #2 with Codeine, and of course lots of rest.
