Back pain

Jan 08, 2017 7:05 PM

My name is Shannon and I have had back pain since I was 13. And I'm 27 now it's been bothering me Ever since then

Jan 08, 2017 7:11 PM

Am so sorry Shannon. Have you talked with your doctor or been to an orthopedic specialist to have it checked? Has anyone given you a possible diagnosis for the back pain?

Jan 08, 2017 7:13 PM

My father won't let me go to the doctor

Jan 08, 2017 7:50 PM

:( what things are you doing for your back? Hear? Ice? Lotions?

Jan 08, 2017 7:52 PM

Just a back brace and pain pills

Jan 08, 2017 9:42 PM

Oh Shannon that's awful, I hope that you're able to be able to see someone about it soon as it could be something serious that needs treatment.
Have you got a tens machine? They can be very good for disrupting the pain signals therefore making you feel less pained.

Sending you positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

Do you have scoliosis? They check for that in school. So if you are 27 now how come you can not be seen by a doctor? Is there more here than back pain that you need help with?

Jan 09, 2017 11:41 AM

Sezzy my pain is shooting down my leg

Jan 09, 2017 3:15 PM

Does it go down the side of your leg ?

Jan 09, 2017 3:35 PM

That could be siatica pain but you should if possible go to the doctor as soon as possible as it could be from a more serious reason from your back pain.

Is there a reason that your father won't let you see a doctor?

You really need to go to see a doctor to get checked over in case there is a more serious reason for your back pain and they can give you stronger pain relief than what you can get from over the counter meds.

I wish I knew how to help you more other than

Jan 09, 2017 3:39 PM

I get sciatica Sezzy that's why I mentioned it and definitely see a doc OTC don't work for me on them, hope I didn't speak out of turn

Jan 09, 2017 4:47 PM

Xenasmum I thought that was where you were going about the pain going down the leg, I've had sciatica before (my spelling is rubbish so you'll have to excuse it on my ramblings! 😂), a few times over the last 6-7 years and otc never helped....unless I took 800-1000mg of ibuprofen but that kills my stomach and causes diarrhoea so I normally try to ride the pain until I get to the doctors and get diclofenic, naproxen is ok but again stomach pains and diarrhoea but not as bad as ibuprofen can get.

Jan 09, 2017 4:53 PM

Ugh I have a allergy to nsaids

Jan 09, 2017 4:56 PM

That's why you need to get checked over by your doctor so they can prescribe you something stronger that's not an nsaids and otc meds.

Sendingyou positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

I wish my pain would go away

Jan 10, 2017 9:11 AM

U really need to get to a doctor angel, take it from someone who started with the same pain at a young age and put off doing something about it for too long. I am now at point where i need ae walker or cane most days and heading for a wheel chair sometime in the future because i waited to long and now it's permanent. Please get checked

Jan 10, 2017 9:31 AM

Ok I went to the emergency room last and they keep telling me it's a muscle spasm but I think it's more than that

Jan 10, 2017 10:04 AM

I have no clue where ones at

Jan 10, 2017 11:27 AM

I'm not sure how things work in the USA but here in the UK we have to see our GP who refers us to who we need to see, so maybe start with your doctor and speak with them because you know your body so if you think it's more then it is more especially from what you've described, ER doctors are there to treat emergencies they don't have the time to go thro all your notes to make a dx that is for your GP and specialists that your referred too.

I hope you find some answers soon but please don't put off seeing your doctor because not only could the pain get worse but you could cause soo much more damage and end up in a much worse way than you are now

Jan 10, 2017 7:31 PM

Depends on your insurance here in the U. S. Some require a referral and some don't

Jan 10, 2017 7:38 PM

I only have Medicaid

Jan 10, 2017 8:07 PM

I also suffer from back pain and i will be 27 in april so o kinda know what you're going through. It makes you feel old

Jan 10, 2017 8:18 PM

Then go to a primary care doc and get a referral, or you can try a chiropractor. If you find a good one they really can make a difference

Jan 10, 2017 8:19 PM

My Daddy will not let me go to see one

Jan 10, 2017 8:25 PM

He thinks he's a doctor

Jan 10, 2017 9:33 PM

Oh wow but surely at 27 you should be able make your own decisions about who you will and will not see?
Hopefully you can get to your doctor or a chiropractor the longer you leave going the more damage you could be doing.

Sending you positive vibes and warm healing hugs xx

I also started having back pain at 13. Saw a doctor, he found common scoliosis found in taller girls. I felt with the pain until 2009 which I was.....29 I think. I was then found to have 5 herniated discs ranging from mild to moderate. I chose physical therapy and nsaids. That kept me ok until May 31st of 2016. That day my L1S5 extruded to the right leading to a numb and painful right leg and foot. You need to see an MD and have a cat scan or MRI. It's important. Doctors will say it's muscle bc scans cost so much but it needs to be done.
