Back pain re spinal

Feb 09, 2016 9:38 PM

2 weeks post surgery and my back is still KILLING me!!! I had a spinal block for a uterine mylomectomy. They stuck me 5 times and missed... It hurt from the moment they stuck me, when I woke...and is still hurting. Some days are kinda better. Others- miserable!! I know my CRPS could be making this "injury" worse. But I'm worried it's something permanent....
I'm trying to stay positive that it will go away. But then I'm trying to work, or right now write my dissertation- and all I can do is think of how much it hurts! I'm going to fail this quarter if I don't have 10pts by Saturday...but I can't sit to do it! (or stand/lay...) I've told my instructor so many times health causes issues. She is supportive!! But at some point, I have to still get something done.
Ugh! Just venting. My fibro is flaring now too - probably stress... Just tough some days... Back to trying to do some work before I quit...

Thanks Raiha38! I had disability accommodations for my coursework. The dissertation phase has so much leeway that there aren't really accommodations available. It's get it done, or don't 😞 I just have to find a way!!! I've spent too much $ to quit!!

Gardner, I am sorry that you are still suffering the pain from the spinal. It's not surprising since they had to stick you 5 times, that's a lot of trauma to the area. I know for me, RSD/CRPS has settled into virtually every area that I've had surgery or an injury. It's hard and any time I'm stressed, I also go into a flare up of which I'm having now. It's both the fibro and the RSD. Yay me!!😜 Do the best you can with what you've got. Do some laying down, sitting and standing. Could you dictate it onto a digital device and download and print it off?? The. You don't have the struggle of trying to write this all out. Perhaps if you have someone who is willing, you can dictate and THEY can write it out for you. I'd gladly do it for you if I were nearby. I am sure you'll make it work somehow and never, ever worry about venting because that's what we're here for, to support one another. Best of luck on your semester. I can tell, you won't quit. Sending gentle {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you find a way to get it done that doesn't cause you too much more pain and stress. 💕🙏🏻🌻
