11 years and no better? Yikes,I was hopping for a shrewd of hope out there that that maybe I am not doing something right or finding the right surgeon. I misspelled *back surgery and wrote balancing surgery instead. It was L 3-6 and have worse pain and shooting pain that drops me to my knees or flat on my back. Can anyone tell me or even give me a glimpse of hope that there is hope out there????
My brother in law had low back surgery in the early 90's at a spinal surgery specialist hospital in Columbus GA. But it took him several years to fully recover where he could return to his job, moving buildings. He still had occasional bad days but all in all he was pleased with his results. He did exactly what they told him to. Sadly we lost him to pancreatic cancer four years ago.
Unfortunately most everyone I've talked to that's had it (not Columbus) did not do well. I have low back issues and hope I never need surgery. C4-7 are fused already, and though I do fairly well, I've got major issues 20 years later.
I just had a fusion end of October and the first couple of weeks I felt great other than my incision pain but lately I have been hurting and today my dr told me I have to be off my pain meds by the end of January. Praying I am feeling better by then.
