Bad Breath

Jul 13, 2016 9:10 AM

Hi everyone,

I have been really sick, but I am ok. I miss many of you and the conversations going on. Seems like lots of newbies to the ape. Welcome to you.
Severe bad breath. My 16 year old daughter has the challenges that go along with Autism. Like the sensory, hygiene and social ques part. She happens to be a mouth breather, is incapable of blowing her nose and has a nasal drip. At times her breath is horrific ๐Ÿ˜. Like maybe even halitosis bad. It is a very different smell. We have talked with doctor and dentist. My concern was does she have an infection. They just say to brush well and rinse with salt and water. She does not like when I say to stop eating cheese or drinking milk. I have heard these can be a culprit๐Ÿค”. It is an embarrassing thing. I feel bad for her and sometimes I ask her to lick her hand and smell it. She then will rebrush her teeth or start back on salt and water.

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

Sincerely, Beets

Beets, my mother in law had very bad smelling breath. She turned out to have a bacteria and needed medication. She had to breathe into a paper bag and that is how they tested it. She required multiple treatments before it cleared up. I cannot remember the name of it but it contagious. Oh wait, it's H-pylori. I hope this isn't the case with your daughter. Hugs & prayers you can find out what is going on! ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒธ

Thanks FlappysLady.
