Bad day 😔

Feb 25, 2015 9:54 AM

Today is a rough day. I took the gabapentin last night and forced myself out of bed after 10 hours overnight. I don't think its the gabapentin though. I've had my coffee (total decaf-docs orders) so I'm awake. But I'm hurting all over & feel like I've got heavy weights on top of my head & both shoulders. Everywhere I press is extremely tender, painful. I've also noticed bad pain in my tailbone waist & shoulder area discs/spine. I've been on the phone a couple of times and my voice is shaky. My right hand is trembling like crazy. I don't know if this is another fibro flare, but if it is it's worse & unlike anything I've had before. Even my eyeballs hurt to blink or move around. Any ideas?

FlappsyLady, sounds like you are having a flare. I, too, am having a difficult day. Yesterday afternoon, I took a nap and slept an hour and a half. Woke at 3:30pm and thought it was the next day. Well, from that moment until now, I've been awake and I'm exhausted!! Also, my ribcage hurtsm I have a migraine, everything hurts to touch, it's an effort to move and my face is flush and I'm sweating from the pain. Maybe you have something you can take for breakthrough pain? I'll be praying for you. I hope you have a better day.

Feb 25, 2015 11:49 AM

I think you're right AlwayZ. Or else I'm taking the flu; exposed 2 days ago, unknowingly. I have Tramadol I'm going to take. Doesn't feel like I'll accomplish much I needed to do today anyway. Let's both just rest today. Praying we're both at least a little better tomorrow!

Hi Flappsy, Always I too am having a rough day. The only difference is I don't have the pressure on head and shoulders. I Hurt from my neck , both shoulders, all the way down my back to my tailbone across both hips. I have been taking Gab. 300 MG 4 a day for 15 yrs and my Dr decided to increase it too 600 4 x a day last month. He is trying to get my pain under better control, because my blood pressure is out of control due to pain levels being out of control. I have been taking Norco since 2005 so he decided to start me on Fentonyl patches 50 MG change it every 3 days. I was taking 2 Norco every 6 hrs around the clock and I have dropped down to 2 a day now. The problem is I wait until my pain is really bad before I will take the Norco for break thru pain. I hate having to take all of these medicatons.

Oh no! I hope your day improves.

Aliya, weezie12, & AlwayZ, I really think its a lot to do with this storm system. Even though northerners wish they were in the 40's, anything below 60 or above 85 bothers me, and we're at 42 now. Im beginning to wish I lived in the tropics! The cold & wet weather has creeped into my bones, and my muscles feel stiff, extremely stiff. I rarely wear flannel but I'm in flannel PJs, under 2 blankets and I'm still cold & hurting.

Feb 25, 2015 6:12 PM

In all seriousness, between 34 and 60 is the worst for me. These negative temperatures haven't been causing me pain.

Feb 25, 2015 6:39 PM

Same here. Having a really down, frustrating type of day from walking up and down a flight of stairs. I want my normal back already.

Feb 25, 2015 6:54 PM

I pity anyone who has stairs. I no longer take stairs anywhere if I can help it. If I do my movements are slow & rigidly stiff. I think the wisest decision my husband & I made after getting married was choosing to avoid multi-story homes.

Feb 25, 2015 7:09 PM

Stay strong! You've probably heard it before and I totally understand it's easier said then done but just hold on to hope.💙

Feb 25, 2015 7:11 PM

FlappysLady, I really didn't have a choice with it. It was either take the stairs or don't go.Maybe once I've had a full nights sleep, I"ll be a little bit less grumpy. I just took 2 Norco for uncontrollable pain, so let's see what happens. I was literally in tears on the way home.

Feb 25, 2015 7:27 PM

Bless your heart! I hate places that don't give an option to stairs. My mother-in-law's dentist has a long set of stairs. They have a ramp too, but its so steep its easier to do the stairs. Lol. I'm praying you'll get a good nights sleep too!

Feb 25, 2015 9:02 PM

Hey peeps- Hope you all feel better soon, I have been struggling too.

Feb 25, 2015 9:38 PM

I agree with you all that this storm system has something to do with the pain. I've been feeling bad foe a few days, getting progressively worse and today was so bad it was almost unbearable. I'm scared of what tomorrow brings!

Feb 25, 2015 10:59 PM

I've been there done that got the t-shirt I didn't realize how much my blood sugar affect my pain levels you might check your blood sugar and make sure that it's not high also

Feb 26, 2015 1:44 AM

Hey lottapain, how'd you Ind out sugar affects pain? I've never bn told that, and my docknows I have a sweet took, lol! I've been cutting back on sugary foods because of my weight.

I've yet to fall asleep tonight. My wholbody is stinging & itching, driving me nuts! It can't be med related because the only new drug I started today was qvar inhaler, and the sting/itching was going on 3 house before I took it. I think its paresthesias, or a fibro symptom. Whatever it is I wish it would stop!!!

Feb 26, 2015 7:02 AM

I slept less than 3 hr. Have 2 appts or I'd stay in bed. Talked with my hubby and think itching is from Tramadol. Plan to test that theory tomorrow by taking it when I get up. If I've become sensitive/allergic to it, there's nothing left for me to take, unless something new is out. Wishing everyone a better day today & God bless!

Feb 26, 2015 7:49 AM

I sure hope that you aren't getting a allergy to your Tramadol Flappsy, I have a lot of antibiotic allergies and the Dr's have a hard time giving me antibiotics. I can't imagine how hard it is for you to get something to take for your pain will trust and pray that you are not developing an allergie to it.

Feb 26, 2015 8:01 AM

Me too weezie12. I have problems with pain & antibiotic meds.

Feb 26, 2015 8:49 AM

I found that sugar and egg increase my pain a lot because I got mad at the doctors quitting looking for things and went to see a naturopath. she did intolerance testing and those showed up. After cutting them out my daily base pain went from a 9 to a 5.

Feb 26, 2015 9:02 AM

Flappsy and inalotpain I didn't know about sugar affecting pain levels,my Dr never told me. I rarely eat sugar I use Stevie it's a natural sugar and Honey the kind that is unfiltered. But I'm going to check and see. My reading was 152 but I drank some coffee with regular creamer it before I checked it.

Feb 26, 2015 10:02 AM

Hey Floppy! My pain was a ten for days. It is sometime less. I have a fabulous Doctor suggested it was my blood sugar. I had bought some dollar cookies and had been eating them for days. I was talking nursing home it was so bad. Long story short...no more diabetic bombs not as much pain. I have also going gluten free. It works. I am a firm believer that what I eat directly affects my pain level. I also LOVE chocolate....Soda is very bad too and aspartame is Evil. Diet soda especially, look up the Gulf War Syndrome.

Feb 26, 2015 10:41 AM

Everyone try Stevie it is made from a plant , and it measures just like sugar, Dr's are now telling Diabetics to use it instead of other SF sweetners. Any kind of carbonated drink is bad for us but especially diet sodas. Try drinking life water sobe drinks they are sweetned with stevia. They are what I drink I don't drink any carbinated drinks anymore. They taste horrible.

Feb 26, 2015 10:58 AM

I find the aftertaste of stevia unbearable. I only ever use it if I'm making hot chocolate from scratch. I use coconut palm sugar, maple sugar or honey for baking. stevia is way sweet compared to sugar, about 10x, so only use a little.

Feb 27, 2015 3:51 PM

Oops acidentally . I am going to try the coconut palm sugar, everyone's taste are diderent.
