I know exactly where you are at the moment. l have been in the middle, I think, of a pretty bad flare up. My pain has been awful and I'm moody, weepy, in horrible pain and don't want to do anything but try to sleep through it all which is impossible. If you are at a point where your pain is beyond your tolerance and you don't have meds to help you, I would suggest working on your breathing in a quiet room. Breathe with your abdomen, deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Cleansing breaths, at the same time, relax a different part of your body with each exhale. Have some quiet music on in the background to sooth you and help you along the way. Perhaps a warm bath or some heated compresses on the worst areas. You may even want to try to do some gentle stretching after you have relaxed. As far as the doctor... I would definitely go with your gut. If you do NOT agree with what his treatment is then you need to check with your insurance company and see what doctors are in your network and then make sure to do your research. See if they are board certified, call the office and ask to make an appointment for a consult to see if this doctor is going to listen to you and be a good match. I hope you have good luck and find a doctor who will help you with your pain. Sending positive vibes your way. I hope you have a peaceful day and less pain.
