Blood work

Feb 22, 2015 12:37 PM

I am wondering if any of you could take a look at some of my levels and decipher (to some extent) them with me?

Feb 22, 2015 12:57 PM

Will they do it?

Waiting to hear. My CRP was high and some of the others were either at the highest or lowest levels within the ranges. I'm kind of wondering if anyone on the site knows how to look at them collectively

I'll post some once I hear from people. I don't think there is something particularly alarming but it looks like my primary care doc isn't even going to get back to me with the results!!! I signed into the patient portal and printed the lab results myself

Or can someone give me an idea of how much emphasis should be on CRP level?

Feb 22, 2015 5:23 PM

Crp is an inflammation marker. They don't do much about it unless it corresponds with other markers and then they will give a diagnosis. my crp levels were very high at one point. they gave me diclofenac (anti-inflammatory) to counter the inflammation. They never actually looked for what could be causing it because it was my only marker. turns out it was food intolerances that were creating that inflammation. My crp levels are back to normal after eliminating the foods.
It is probably the reason you can't shake the pain.
I hope you are able to figure out what's causing it.

Because of the Barrett's I can't take anti inflamatories My CRP was 4.25 and I don't know if that is a bit high or a bunch high. Also the other levels seem to be. Either at the top or the bottom of the ranges

Is that mg/dL or mg/L? If you can tell me that and give me that and units for your other blood work u can let you know (I have access to doctors references on bloodwork)

I just received the phone call from my (crappy) doctor about the blood work he had done at my appt last week. It came back "mostly normal" the nurses exact words... so carry on nothing to worry about. I asked for a copy of the results. He may not think it is anything to worry about but I am gonna look at it and see what "mostly normal" is... So frustrated!

Horns let me know what they are it you'd like me to look up whether they're okay in my References (same ones docs use)

These Doctors are really frustrating , I could scream when I am dealing with my Dr. Why don't they realize when they say something like that to us we are going to worry abour the part that's not normal. They don't want to sit down and explan anything because it's cutting into his money having to stop and talk.

Thanks Reece! I should get my copy in a day or two if it was mailed today like it was supposed to be.

That's such BS! I would just be curios to see how our docs would change if it were their wives or husbands who were waiting on pins and needles?? 😳. I can be pretty sure it wouldn't be "Mostly Normal" or the bs my primary gave me that made me feel like a waste of time and a user. He did a number

Oregon if you think that is bad go check out the "so frustrated and angry!" post I left the other day about the actual appointment I had with the doctor! I am going to be looking for a new pcp after that appt!
