Botox for Pelvic pain

Jul 18, 2017 9:02 AM

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone's tried Botox for Pelvic pain? Here's a little background on my situation.
I've had chronic Pelvic pain since I was 8 and have always struggled with it. I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 19, many years and many OBGYNS later through laparoscopy. In recent years I've started seeing a urologist/OB and we've been through the mill, nothing has worked. Birth control made things much worse, typical nerve meds only had more side effects and didn't help with pain, got to a point I said no more meds. Went into Pelvic PT 2x weekly till I maxed out my PT coverage for two years. She would release muscles and they'd be tight and spasming again within a week or so. I'm at a point where I'm considering excision surgery and Dr. Seckin Aqua Blue Dye Technique to remove endo. It's out of pocket and very expensive but have many reasons to believe endo is causing my wide spread nerve pain. But I'm also looking into Pelvic Botox because I'm in constant pain every day all day, I have difficulty getting comfortable sitting, standing, laying down, sexual intercourse, wearing pants is impossible so forced into dresses and skirts. 24 and this disables and runs my life.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with Pelvic Botox? A little nervous because of how bad the spasms are, I really don't want to make them worse.

Hi 😊 I have not had Botox but I did have a Laparoscopic Hysterectomy done almost 3 weeks ago. So I understand your pain and how you are feeling as far as being nervous.

I honestly don't know what to recommend for you . I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with this. We are all here to help the best we can. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Out of pocket can get expensive really fast . Do you have insurance at all ? I was thinking because it is a medical issue. Then maybe you can get help paying for it .

Best of luck and sending preyers your way. ((Gentle hugs)) Stay strong .

I've never had Botox for pelvic pain, however I usually get Botox every 90 days for chronic migraines and it's helped a lot. I think it'd be worth a shot. I'd talk to the dr and see if there is a possibility it could worsen your pain, if not then I would try it for sure!
