CatchMyPain Community and Pain Diary App to manage chronic illness

Boy, have I missed you all

May 18, 2015 11:11 AM

Hello fellow pain sufferers. I am sorry I have been MIA but have been having difficulty in getting onto this app for some reason. I can no longer get onto it on my phone or tablet and then had trouble getting on from my computer. I have been having a difficult time at best and have been doing alot of running around to take my Mom to the Dentist, my Dad to the VA and myself to my own doctor appointments. I now have an eye infection called EKC and there is a huge hole in the conjunctiva in my eye (The tissue that covers the cornea). It is fairly deep, the white of my eye is blood red and there are spots in my cornea. When I look at myself, my eyeball looks like one of those weird goldfish with the bubbles for eyes. It hurts like hell, I can't see clearly and it bleeds when I touch it to put the medicine into it. At any rate, I have to go to pain management the day after Memorial Day and then take my Mom to the dentist again and whatever comes up after that. I hope everyone here is doing well or at least is not having any horrendous problems. You are all in my thoughts and prayers each and every day. Thinking of you and wishing you all a peaceful and less painful day.

Hey AlwayZ, you've been miss too! I'm so sorry about your eyes. Are they able to do anything for the hole? Are they positive it's EKC? Conjunctivitis typically clears up by 4-6 weeks and doesn't generally cause bleeding like that. My whole family had it a few years back and our eyes were red but without bleeding. That's really weird, and awful for you! I hope your eyes improve quickly!!!

I have had to delete the CMP app from my phone. It quit working the day they had me download the trial app and even though I came off it & deleted it, CMP app refuses to operate. I'm using my dinosaur tablet because I can't get into the app from my computer. I've gone through the download for the Google chrome but still can't get past the site telling me to download the GC engine. It's so frustrating! And this stupid tablet keeps auto correcting my words wrongly!

I'm having a rough time right now with extreme fatigue and tremors. I hope you & everyone else has a bless day! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

So glad to hear from you Alwayz.
Post-op pain is a bitch right now. Wound is slowly taking it's time healing cause it's open still and it's deep so that makes it worse at this point. On Percocet for pain but can't take it unless I take a Benadryl along with it. That's where I am right now.

FlappsyLady, I am sorry to hear that you are having the same basic troubles I am having getting into the app. It is frustrating because you all have become a very welcome life line for me. You are all very important for me and I have to say, it always makes me feel better when I can come on here and help someone else to feel better. The eye doctor is 90% positive that I have EKC. I had it last year (confirmed) and at that time, he peeled the pseudo membrane that grew over the conjunctiva and ended up tearing it. It took 4 months for it to clear up last time and he told me that he has a patient that has had it for almost a year now. What happened was I felt like there was something in my left eye and I kept rubbing it and then I pulled my lower eyelid downward and looked up as far as I could to stretch my eye and try to make it feel better and where the scar I had from the last episode was tore open. I called the eye doctor and they told me they couldn't get me in until the end of the week. I ended up seeing another doctor and he was actually very attentive, looked at my eye, LISTENED to me and he both cultured the eye and gave me a steroid/antibiotic ointment and took care told me to come back in a few days. I did that and it has not started to improve yet. At any rate, thank God, it's only in my left eye. My vision is blurry, the white of my eye is blood red and looks like a big bubble. I am hoping that it gets better faster than it did last time. It bleeds when I clean it because of the tear in the tissue.. It stops quickly but it is distressing.
Amanda, I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your post op healing. I know all too well what it is like to have a hole in my abdomen for 8 months and it was VERY deep and I had to clean it out three times a day and all kinds of aweful crap came out of it. I hope that it closes up quickly for you and with no infection or issues. I wish you the very best of luck
thanks for saying that you guys missed me..... You have remained in my thoughts and prayers and as much as I can possibly get onto the app, I will be here to help whoever I can. Sleep well everyone and I hope you have a peaceful night and less pain.

AlwayZ that's horrible what happened with the tear, and now the EKC. I'll pray it heals much quicker than the last episode!

Amanda, I'm still praying you'll get no more sores and this will heal. Its got to be very draining for both you & AlwayZ's eye! Praying for you both!!! πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Thanks Flappsy... This eye is driving me crazy!! The tear is not healing because as the darn thing starts to close, when I move my eye, the tissue stretches and tears it back open again. The doctor said this is normal and that I need to stretch my eye every day, several times a day so that the hole can close gradually and not tight from not moving my eye so that it doesn't continue to tear at the area of the scarring.. It is quite painful and when I look around it feels like I have things in my eye so it is constantly irritated and has long strings of goop that come out (The last one I cleaned out was over 6 inches long and went around the perimeter of my eye twice. It started in the corner closest to my nose, I touched it with the Q-Tip and it started to pull out and followed the route of my eyelid across the top, pulled out further from the outside corner, then continued along the bottom lid and pulled out further and then around the top again). I had all I could do not to blink so it didn't break off and go back into my eye. Each time I have to put the medicine into it, I have to rinse the eye with cholerium sterile eyewash and then after that, usually the stringy stuff is stuck to the eyecup and starts to pull out and then snaps back into my eye. I get the Q-Tip and after I clean it all out, the eye starts to bleed and then I have to take a fresh one to put the ointment into my eye. It's very blurry and swollen and looks very strange. the doctor says it looks better but it doesn't FEEL better yet. I will just have to be patient I guess. Thanks, as always for the prayers, You are always in mine as well.

Alwayz I am sorry that yor eye is so painful hopefully the medications will quickly take care of it. Will be in my thoughts and prayers.

May 24, 2015 6:00 PM

AlwayZ, I've read so much the past week on sjogrens, and although I can't find it now I'm positive I saw something about conjunctivitis and sjogrens. I know my eyes look like I've got pink eye, especially when I'm tired. I can't imagine what you are dealing with. I'm praying the Lord will help your eye heal as sπŸ™πŸŒΌoon as possible!

May 25, 2015 10:28 AM

Thanks, Flappsy..... I have had this type of infection twice within a year. This time it's much, much worse and I can't describe the pain. Between the medicationI and the goop discharging from my eye, I can't see well and I am really not driving simply because it's not safe.. I will have to read about eye problems and Sjogrens and ask the doctor about it. I still haven't gone to my pcp to be tested for Lyme or Lupus... I guess after everything else I've been diagnosed with, I just don't want to know. Thanks for your prayers also, Weezie. I am grateful to all who say prayers for me... believe me, they are greatly appreciated.

Just a quick note to everyone this Memorial Day Weekend. Even though it is a day to have fun and start the summer activities, I want to say that I send out a very heartfelt Thank You to all who have family members who made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting this great country of ours. I would also like to say Thank You to all here who may have served to protect this great country of ours. Thank you for your bravery, your sacrifice of family time, health, facing fear and standing your ground anyway. So, while you are having fun, lift your glass and salute your veterans both retired and active and those no longer with us. They deserve our love, respect and the biggest salute of them all.... Enjoy all, be safe!!!

Well said Alwayz we can't thank our service men and women enough for all of their sacrifices that they have made for our country so we may continue to enjoy our freedoms today.

May 25, 2015 6:53 PM

I thank all our veterans too! AlwayZ said it much better.

Eddieray, they're having server issues with all the changes they're doing. I emailed due to issues I was having and that's what they told me.

Alwayz, I just wanted to let you know that I noticed that you were gone and I missed you. You are so encouraging to me. I would like to be as encouraging as you. You and Flappy really keep this place going. So do the others. But you two have a big input here. But just wanted to let you know how much you have been missed. Take care.

Jun 03, 2015 3:38 AM

Alwayz, please tell us that your starting to feel better 😟. What you are going thru sounds absolutely awful. I didn't even know that anything like it could happen! I hope you are doing better, and you are in my thoughts!

Jun 03, 2015 3:42 AM

Also, I totally agree with Profiler. I rather believe that the two of you are the heart of this community - you keep it going, you're very kind, & you always are there for ppl regardless of your own problems. I appreciate that. Thank you.

Jun 05, 2015 12:28 PM

WOW!! How nice to hear that I make you feel better and that my input is appreciated. It makes me feel good to help you all because it takes my focus off of myself. I completely agree with you about Flappsy and Weezie and a number of others that are really always here and posting and keeping things going. I try to give people a chuckle and make you smile for the day. Well, I have to say that you have made ME smile today and it really touched my heart. Believe me, I know that from finding all of you wonderful folks, I have formed attachments to some of you more than others for no other reason than what we have in common or we communicate more. Profiler, I think of you often. I wonder about those lumps and the parasitic infections you have been dealing with. I hope that with the information you have from the CDC that you have found another doctor who listens to you and doesn't call you delusional, which I can say just from speaking to you, that you are NOT. I hope everyone is as well as they can be, I am hanging in there. Radical weather patterns have me in more pain than normal but it is what it is, right?? I hope you all have a blessed day and that it's peaceful and less painful.
