Well nervous no more, our NEW ONLY WORKING CAR died on the side of the road! I am frustrated beyond belief! I have 2 DR's appointments tomorrow and the Job interview on Wednesday that I am now not going to make it to! Can't get my car home or afford to get it fixed! My appointment tomorrow was with my pain Dr. And I was hoping to get those shots scheduled. But not only that I will be out of my pain medication for my migraines and for my back and shoulders. Please all I ask is for some prayers. Lord knows our family needs them. Its an even bigger hit to our finance's. We just made the first payment on our car this month!
There is but only some parts are covered on it. If the parts are covered we have to pay copay of $100 that we don't have. I have a check for $304 from our plumber going through on the first and a speeding ticket (that's a long story) that was extra to come out this month and we are only PD once a month. Hubby is retired reserves and don't get much a month. We got this car because our van was on its last leg..didn't think we would have this problem again soon. My prayer is that once we get it there they find its a recall and then its totally paid for by them lol!!
Moparmom, I will definitely pray for your situation! In GA there are "lemon laws" to protect the buyer, it's somewhere between 30-90 days. Does your state offer that? Can you ask family, friends, or a neighbor to take you to the appts? Explain to them about the interview for a job. Is it possible to call the plumber and ask him to let you write a check for half the price and pay the rest next month? He may do so when you explain what happened. There have been many times we've sold things we didn't use just to come up with needed money. I sold a few necklaces my husband gave me for medical reasons. At first he was upset but when I explained they never were my style, I hadn't worn them in years, and if I died the girls would sell them because they weren't their style either, he said OK. I kept the three that were special & my style, and sold the other four. We sold his boat that was rotting from non use. I sold a sewing machine I no longer could use.
When everything looks impossible, do what I do & look up...when things are bleak, let go and let God. He will guide you. Do what you can by praying and making phone calls asking for help or to reschedule, and let God do the rest. If it's meant to be He will provide the way to make that interview. (((Hugs))) for the frustration, prayers for help and blessings! 🙏🌼
Moparmom, I am so sorry for the dilemma that you are currently in. I will pray that it all works out to your benefit. Put it in God's hands and know that one way or another you WILL get to the appointments you need to get to. I was just thinking about worrying myself into a month long problem of such high anxiety, my blood pressure went through the roof. Flappsy told me to put it into God's hands and he would get me through. Profiler also told me to keep my mind focussed on the moment I'm in and not what's coming or what may happen. Well, BOTH suggestions for me through a nightmare with flying colors and my blood pressure is back to normal and it will be OK for you as well. Just in case, I'll be throwing in a few extra prayers on your behalf.. All the best. Sending you hugs. 💕🙏🏻🌻
Hubby and I have several things up for sale but no bites. The job interview tomorrow is a mass interview, what that means is there is more then just me showing up for the same job on the day, I can't reschedule. I lose my chance at getting a job tomorrow after searching and applying for jobs for over a year. The car was towed away to a Dealership today and the towing bill is going into the cost of the bill to fix it, but we won't have it back for another week! I am at my wits end. No car, lose of possibly getting a job and we did reschedule the appointment (Dr.s)but it's 6 months out from now. Frustrated to say the least.
I can sure understand that. Focus on positive as much as you possibly can. I know that it's not easy... 90% of the time it's very difficult. I hope that you can find a way to try to relax, ask God to help you or guide you the best way to go about all of this. I know that somehow, someway, it will get better. I don't know how but somehow, there's always a way for things to work out. (And they will for you).
Moparmom, I'm with AlwayZ on staying positive. I hate asking for help, but in the past two years I have had to learn to. Is there anyone you can ask for a ride? Or could you borrow the money for a cab, a parent or sibling of friend? I'm praying that everything will fall into place! 🙏🌼
If you lived in Bay Area California I would drive you anywhere you needed. I have nothing on my schedule except my own job interview on the 30th. I have a hybrid so gas is not a problem for me. Wish I could help! I agree with Alwayz and Flappys don't give up! What about public transportation? I know it can be awful, but it can work.
Unfortunately I live I a small town where there is no public transportation, all my family lives in another state and my in laws are both deceased. We have no family here but us. But we will get by until we get the car back.
I'm sending you positive thoughts and cyber hugs! I can relate, our Jeep hasn't moved in just over two weeks. We ordered a part for the transmission. ($100 that we borrowed from my Dad's church) When it came in, after waiting ten days, it was the wrong part. The place we ordered it from refunded the money, but we are still need the correct part.
We have been using my Dad or my sister's car. Neither one is in good condition. Dad's SUV the brakes don't work and my sister's car the transmission is going on it. I have an appointment a week from tomorrow in Buffalo. It's a two hour one way drive. We don't trust either Dad's or my sister's car that far. If I don't make the appointment, I lose my SSI.
Rick was able to find another place that is suppose to have the part we need and he ordered it, now we are just praying the part gets here in time to put it in and get the Jeep back on the road before Wednesday.
I'm still praying you find a way to get to your interview and that everything works out well for you.
I know what you mean by a small town. I live on the outskirts of a small town myself. A whopping 1600 people! I am also 6 miles from town. I wouldn't trade it for anything though.
I really just wanted you to know that you are not alone and we are all here for you.
MoparMom, I hope all the love and hugs and prayers being sent to you are helping lift up your spirits. I am too praying that things start to ease up.... Praying about the job interview. I hate that you might have to miss that. So much going on... My best wishes. And I would give you a ride if you lived in Vermont!!
Small? My hamlet has approx 30-40 houses. We really are tiny here. There's maybe 100-150 people living here. No shop, pub or any amenity, although the large farm just across means roads are kept clear. We can't survive here without transport. It's essential. Sincerely hope the vehicle is repaired and you get to all your appointments. It's hard to manage when the one mode of transport is not working. P.
I had to call and cancel the job interview and told them what happened and today was the last day for interviews. Got a call from the shop and now we have to figure a way to the shop so they can see the warranty paperwork. Good news is got a $40 check in the mail lol!
So sorry you had to cancel the job interview! I was so hoping you would be able to find a way to get there. But the unexpected check in the mail was a very pleasant surprise I'm sure!
I did send positive thoughts your way today, I hope you were able to feel them.
My allergy testing has me totally confused. According to the test, I'm not allergic to any foods, but my throat swells shut when I eat tomatoes, and I break out in hives from strawberries and bananas. But I'm not allergic to any of them according to the tests.
I am, however, allergic to dust mites, cats, dogs, trees, grass, ragweed, trees, and mold.
ScaryAnn, do you think it could have something to do with the seeds? My friends husband gets really sick when eating any type of food with seeds in it and is rushed to the er. Praying they can figure it out.
MoparMom, you and everyone here are in my prayers. I love "Let Go, Let God." Hard to do when it's all crashing down on you. I've felt the same, as well as everyone here. You are not alone. Prayers and positivity heading your way. 🙏🏼😊
Update: Car still in the shop, but good news is my husband was able to somewhat fix his car so we have a way to get around till the dealership decides to get around to my car. My neighbor has been awesome in helping my husband get to the parts store to pick up parts for his car that's been down for a year because we couldn't afford the insurance so we thought we had in storage with the insurance company but after hubby fixed it the insurance company said that we were paying for insurance on it the whole time. Also the doctor's office Called today and they had an opening for 7:30am tomorrow! No more 6 months! Thank You all for the prayer's they are working! Oh even though I couldn't get another job interview my friend's son is getting married next year and photography has always been my passion, I am doing their wedding photos for free and I am going to use those as my start to get out and do something scary, and that is start my own photography business! They don't get married till 2016 but I did their wedding proposal picture's on Christmas Eve! So I have those as well! I am scared and excited at the same time and I can still have time for my kids and family!
Thank You ScaryAnn, I am especially excited about getting my shot's scheduled for my back! They are now 5 -6 months overdue and very much welcomed in my mind to be being done verses my medications! I can deal with the 6 weeks of swelling and pain until the shot's kick in! They do do one side n 2 weeks later the other side. Its a total of 2 weeks of swelling on each side before the pain subsidies before the shot's kick in but all so worth it!
Woohoo!!!!! Shots are scheduled for the 20th at 11am and boy I can't wait! Is it terrible that I'm excited?! Lol! Got my migraine meds upped to help combat the frequency praying it works! If not he wants to explore another avenue that I'm afraid to even think about. New topic on that in a few because I want your input. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes I'm so glad I found this community!
Moparmom, I'm so very glad for all your good news. And yes, getting the shots would cause me to celebrate! I'm on hold until Mayo finishes with me. I'm having bad cervical and lumbar pain, but it comes in spells so at least it's still tolerable. 🙏🌼
