Calming down SI joint pain?

Nov 23, 2015 9:39 PM

Okay so I either overdid it or something is really irritating the SI joint on the right side. I already took an 800 mg ibuprofen and have no other pain meds. The weird part is no sciatica yet(knock on wood). Anybody have any ideas of how to relieve it so I can sleep and function tomorrow? And no, I refuse to do any more of the SI joint injections cause those suckers hurt and they don't last for me.

Amanda have you tried a heat PA k,sometimes the moist heat helps me alot. Will be praying and sending hugs your way.

Amanda, try using ice. If you are not comfortable with that then use one of those special pillows with a hole in the middle. It will take the pressure off of the SI Joint and hopefully prevent you from having sciatica pain. Perhaps gentle stretches after using some heat to loosen you up and then ice to bring down the inflammation. I hope that this has been somewhat helpful to you. Sending healing {{{Hugs}}} and prayers that you feel better soon. It just dawned on me that this could be happening to you because you're walking differently with your sprained ankle. Any time we favor a leg, knee, hip, ankle or foot it throws off your entire spine and can cause other pains. Just a thought. Feel better, Amanda, I'm here if you need me.πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ»

Alwayz, it definetly could be that, but the ankle sprain is on the other side. Will have to try a hot bath in the morning. Right now, need to think about going back to sleep already.

Sleep well and pleasant dreamsπŸ’•

Alwayz, think I've got an answer for it. Sacrum is out of place, not the si joint itself.

Amanda, and I'm having the same problem but on the left side and it is radiating into my hip and the sciatic nerve is screaming at me! If you have a Sprouts or Sun Harvest or other health food store that sells herbal remedies, look for a homeopathic med in a blue tube. For the life of me I can't remember what it's called but it will say it's for nerve pain. They also have one for muscle pain. They can't hurt and they might help. As for getting the sacrum back in place? I'd say a chiropractor but I don't like them.

Cearea, will have to wait on a chiropractor for now. Not having any sciatica right now, but that's only because the si joint injections are still holding good. It doesn't help matters that I've been stressed out with everything else going crazy around me.
