Can feel it coming... Brrr! 😨

Dec 02, 2015 10:14 PM

I can feel the colder weather coming. Every joint on my hands and feet, elbows, knees, and yes, even the spine are all trying to draw up within themselves to stay warm. I've been tired all day today. Joints that have never bothered me are tender to touch, achy. No bruises that I can see, so it has to be the cold weather. I wonder, does that means my Arthritis is spreading? I'm glad I have sweats to wear to PT tomorrow.

Goodnight, sweet dreams, and God's blessings through the night and tomorrow for leads pain, or at least higher tolerance! 🙏🌼

This year (where I live) has been near record temperatures for heat, and the possibility of snow
(here, 2 inches several days in a row is all we can afford...literally. A couple years back we had a bit of snow November, but then several weeks off school/work for December, we weren't prepared, so the traffic lights died, people lost electricity and water access, and we couldn't afford snow plows. Hoping it doesn't happen this year! 😂😨😌 )
People are already expecting show with the temperatures we've been having. Not excited at all...

Flappsy, I can understand what you're dealing with. The cold weather here in NY is settling in. Now out of nowhere, even though we've had three days of dampness and rain (which sure doesn't help anyone's pain), the sun is going to come out and it's going to be in the 50's. Warm for this time of years here and then at night, plummeting below freezing. I have pains in places I didn't know I had... LOL!! My hands are hurting, my wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and basically my entire spine. Not to mention my left leg (RSD) and left knee (needs replacement) and my right Achilles Tendon (slightly torn). Being sick has not helped either as it's taking me longer to feel better. I thought I was going to fall asleep earlier but I guess I'm not having any such luck. Oh well, such is life. I send you positive vibes, gentle {{Hugs}} and prayers that you have a restful slumber and wake tomorrow with less pain and a wonderful Thursday ahead. Feel better, my dear friend.💕🙏🏻🌻

Dec 02, 2015 11:42 PM

I love the snow and winter, but the winter and snow don't love me that much. I love to snowboard, but I'm not sure how my body will hold up this year. Sorry to hear about your discomfort, thoughts are with you❤

Dec 03, 2015 6:23 AM

Oh Flappys, I can feel your pain... It's been cold and rainy here for over a week. If we would have gotten anymore rain the lake would have been in our backyard! The highest temp we saw this week was 43° as it sits right now it's 33° with a colder wind chill. Praying you got some good sleep and wake up feeling better with lite to no pain. Prayer's are with you.😘🙏💕

Dec 03, 2015 7:00 AM

Cold and rainy here! Hit me last night. Trying to really take care of myself so I don't flare. I'm with ya all!

Dec 03, 2015 10:20 AM

Ferret where the heck are you?
Flappy I typically do better here in Az after our monsoons but this yr my feet and legs sometimes can not get warm. I hooked up the electric blanket on me yesterday. Whimpy whimpy lol

Dec 03, 2015 11:01 AM

I've seen some really beautiful pictures from there Ferretbandit

Dec 03, 2015 12:08 PM

Ferretbandit I was reading your post and thought my gosh that sounds like where I was from in oregon...then you said oregon. Lol. We lived in the Albany area. We had traveled all over the wonderful state and now live in washington. I discovered the only thing more beautiful than oregon is here although I am to sick to get out much. We get 10 inches less rain here in the seattle area so that helps the weather depression.

Dec 03, 2015 6:10 PM

Yeah, the weather depression sucks, but it is beautiful. This last summer, the wildfires were pretty bad though, coast was the only escape

Dec 03, 2015 6:11 PM

I'm in a valley, so even just 45 min was amazing for better air

It's been a rough day today. My sister called early to tell me my brother had a weird episode last night but wouldn't go to the hospital. I told her he needed to go because it sounded like a stroke. While on the phone he came to her for so I hung up. She called back a few minutes later, said they'd calm 911, and the paramedics thought it was a stroke or heart attack. We all rushed to the hospital, as I'm his POA. He was flushed and clammy, said he felt awful and his head wouldn't stop hurting. Out of nowhere he became dizzy, started seeing spots and couldn't focus, and couldn't walk straight (leaning to his left). After the CAT scan of the brain, CT of neck, IV fluids and pain meds he was sent home. The doc said he thought it was vertigo, and maybe several things going on (but didn't mention). My brothers never had vertigo.

I asked for the reports to take to his doc Monday. The CAT scan shows ischaemic changes and other things I don't understand. And the CT on his cervical spine to the T2 level... Wow! He has moderate to severe bulges, stenosis, osteophytes, narrowing of canal, facet issues and issues of the atlatoaxial joint. His report reads worse than mine. I had ruptures that required surgery in '92 & '95.

I'm wondering if he looked up or tipped his head back, causing the severe pain to shout down his neck and numb his arm (pinched a nerve), caused the headache & vertigo. I've gotten vertigo from looking up multiple times.

I'm tired and my knees are swollen so I'm going to bed, hoping to sleep. Good night to all! 🙏🌼

Dec 04, 2015 6:54 AM

Oh Flappys, I'm sorry your brother is going thru this, I'll be praying that his doctor on Monday can help him better then the er doc did. Please keep us posted! Love, hugs and prayers! 🙏😘💕

Dec 04, 2015 12:46 PM

Flappsy, I am so terribly sorry that your brother had this episode. Thank God you had the presence of mind to ask for that report. Yes, if he turned his head the wrong way and pinch a nerve or cause inflammation that temporarily cut some oxygen to his brain, that very well could have caused the problem. I turned my head to look at the tv, I all of a sudden felt strange and my head started spinning, my heart started to pound, my body was wet and warm and I couldn't speak right and couldn't walk without help. Turned out that it was because of all that is wrong with my cervical spine that I had this happen. They said vertigo to me as well but it wasn't. Thank God it wasn't anything worse. As always, you're in my thoughts and prayers my dear, dear friend. {{Hugs}} 💕🙏🏻🌻

Flappys how are you doing after your fall? Have your healed up? Hopefully your pain is not to high
I was just checking on you.

Dec 06, 2015 7:45 AM

Frost this morning everywhere. VA usually is colder this time of year, but apparently the weather finally snapped yesterday morning which is why I was such a mess yesterday. Things are a little better this morning, but omg ... I hope everyone is having a blessed day and is staying as pain free as possible.

Dec 07, 2015 8:39 PM

Thank you all! I'm just getting online today. I turned sick at my stomachFriday and I'm still not feeling my best today. My hubby only had it 24 hours... Lucky dog! Lol. As far as my fall, I'm over that.

But oddly, I was walking on the treadmill today and I've been at 20 min for over a week so I thought I'd shoot for 25. When I hit 23 minutes I started feeling tingling, stinging, semi-numbness from my feet up to my thighs. I stopped walking and sat in the recliner with my feet elevated advice my hips. It took 30 minutes for the sensations to go away. I'm like, "what was that?"

My brother is still very bad offer. He's hurting in his neck real bad and the spinning vertigo like symptoms are worse today. His doc put him out of work all week. He's got to have some tests. Keep in in prayers please. He semi retired a month ago, and if he can't work help make leads than he did working film time. He's always been a minimum wage worked, very healthy, and doesn't handle stress and change very well. Goodnight to you all, and may you be blessed with fairly decent sleep if not great sleep! 🙏🌼

Dec 08, 2015 5:32 PM

Yep, the weather changes are starting to gradually get to me as well. I tend to get really bad muscle spasms in my back with weather changes and today has been pretty much nonstop all day. Ankle has started to follow suit as well.

Dec 08, 2015 5:35 PM

I am so sorry Flappy. My loser brothers mean the world to me. My heart is for you both

Dec 08, 2015 5:37 PM

Btw Ferret we need pics. Are u on Facebook as well? We spent 2 wks in Depot bay yrs ago and thought of moving to Portland when we came here. Love Marion berry pie

Dec 08, 2015 6:03 PM

Wow ! I definitely feel for you all with your winter closing in. Summer is on its way here and we've just had four days above 35°C it didn't do much for the fibro as we have a very dry heat here. The more I think about it the more I want to go live up north where the humidity is said to help.

Dec 13, 2015 9:03 AM

Wow at the typos in my last msg...sorry! Lol

My brother has an MRI and he's got to see a neurologist. He's very cranky because he can't go back to work. Here's never between good at waiting. Lol
The weather has been semi summer this weekend, which has been great for running errands, but we bundle up in the morns and strip off in the afternoons... The kind of weather that makes you sick. I'm no longer such. But now I'm so constipated I'm miserable eating & adding food to the mix. It's suppose to storm tomorrow then turn cold again. We were out most of yesterday with errands. I was hoping to rest today but we have to go check on my hubby's mom. She fell again yesterday. They said she's forgetting how to walk. Afraid she's going to a full nursing home soon. I hope everyone has a good day today! (((Hugs))) & prayers for all! 🙏🌼

Dec 13, 2015 2:02 PM

Flappsy, I hope your brother gets his answers soon. Men don't usually cope as well as we do (sorry guys). I'm glad you're better and we have been doing the same here in NY. Bundle in the morning and strip off in the afternoon. What a coincidence that I've been having constipation issues too. I think I haven't been drinking enough. Hoping it passes soon, my belly is making very loud noises in protest!! I am so sorry to hear about your hubby's Mom. I will say prayers for her. I know it's incredibly hard to have to put someone you love in a home. I remember when my Grandmother had to go. I am sending you lots of love, {{Hugs}} and prayers that today is a better day and that all of my pain family is having a peaceful Sunday. 💕🙏🏻🌻

Dec 16, 2015 4:23 PM

The weather bothers me so bad I stay in the house all winter, due to new issues heart and lung diseases, the family demand that I do the silver sneakers program. Will let you know how they go. Then the pool if I can tolerate the water. It is a heated pool so should be ok even though it takes me at least 15 minutes to get in lol. Hubby gave me a month in Florida for my birthday(jan) I can't wait for the warm weather. I am hoping it will loosing up this body so I can deal with the rest of the winter.

Dec 16, 2015 10:01 PM

Thank you AlwayZ. My constipation is primarily stress (IBS) and med changes that have made it worse, and not drinking enough because I've not been home to drink as easily/much. I've just had my first day at home, without any necessary appts or to do, in well over three weeks. I ran a few errands this morning but came home before the rain started. It's going to rain all day tomorrow, and if I feel as bad tomorrow as I have this afternoon I may stay in bed. I oppose you get better real soon. And I hope you don't have Sjogrens, or if you do that it won't give you many complications.

Blessedby4, keep us posted how that goes. Last time I got in a pool it hurt so bad I had chills all night, but it wasn't heated. It's been in the 70's since last week and I'm still hurting. But our highs drop to the 50's Friday. Good thing I have nowhere to go, and sweats to wear! Lol.

Goodnight and peaceful sleep to all! (((Hugs))) 🙂🙏🌼

Dec 20, 2015 9:31 PM

its cold where i live brrr is right

Dec 20, 2015 10:37 PM

Flappys I feel it coming alright. It's getting bad enough for me to call pain management if it doesn't settle by in the morning. Haven't slept through the night in about 3 days and keep getting woken up at 3 with back pain.

Dec 20, 2015 10:40 PM

yea making my legs hurt burn

Dec 21, 2015 10:43 AM

It's like ice in my fingers and leg bones this morning. Yet we are warning up to the 80's by Christmas! I'm headed to a warm shower to see if it helps. If not I'm finding my gloves! 🌬❄🙂🙏🌼
