I am so frustrated with going to bed, then not being able to fall asleep. It is exhausting, and I haven't found anything to help. Anyone else? And/or any "natural" or OTC recommendations? I've tried several RX and none have worked. They just make me loopy. 😥
I know the feeling. I have been awake all night. Nothing works for me any more. But melatonin use to work really well for me before. It's a natural medicine. You can buy it at any store that sells vitamins basically.
DCMomInPainOuch, A few months ago there was a discussion on getting better sleep. I pasted a list of things my doctor gave me, in order to prep for sleep and retain my body to sleep on schedule. For the most part I'm doing much better at sleeping. Unfortunately I can't remember if all. I'll try to search for it later. I'll list things I can remember.
1) reserve bed for sleeping; no TV or reading or technology use 2) go to bed & get up at the same time daily 3) don't read or watch any intense books/shows within 2 hours of bedtime; record and watch later 4) take melatonin (3, 5, 10 mg tabs) 5) if in bed for 30-60 minutes and can't sleep, get up and go sit elsewhere, listening to soothing music, or reading a not-intense book. NO technology because of overstimulating the brain. 6) No caffeine or chocolate after 2:00 pm
It took me over 2 months to get my body where I sleep better and fail asleep faster. I still have bad nights of waking or not sleeping well because of pain. I Istanbul to soothing music while going to sleep. My radio has a timer and I set it for 30 min. But the insomnia is way less! I oppose this can work for you. 🙏🌼
