Recently my sleeping pill prescription is doing nothing to help me sleep because my pain is so bad I was so tired at school today I fell asleep when I went to my favorite teachers room for study hall. I need sleep the most I get is 2-3 hours
Hi Talia14. I too struggle to sleep. However I have been sleeping better and have been less fatigued since taking a medication called Naltrexone, in a low dose. Along with fibromyalgia comes chronic fatigue and I was falling asleep in waiting rooms, on my lunch break, and would spend up to 22hrs in bed some days and I still felt exhausted. One other thing I do is lots and lots of meditation. Guided sleep meditation is so good to help your body relax and your mind too. I just get mine on YouTube. Best of luck xx
Talia, My sleep study showed my pain is what keeps me from good sleep. My Ortho surgeon has been giving me a mild muscle relaxer that I take at bedtime, along with Natrol Melatonin (it works better than the Lunesta because I have no hung over sluggish feelings). But it's important to take it 30 minutes before laying down to sleep. Also, relaxation techniques are important before bedtime; meditation like katpain does, reading, listening to music, whatever helps your body relax to go to sleep.
