I have fibromyalgia as well as carpal tunnel in both wrist over ten years it's called mild but the pain is high. For reasons I have not chosen surgery told it will not help me fibromyalgia pain in wrists only carpet Tunnel pain. I found out last year that I can have cortisone shots which I did and received alot of relefe. My pain has come back a year latter and just had my 2nd shots. I am wondering if any one has had the surgery and did it last. I'm looking at doing it this winter I can only have 1 more shot in my wrists.
I did both hands for severe carpal tunnel. This was about eight years ago and it was prior to my fibro diagnosis, so I didn't have to fight with the doctors about it on that front. That being said, carpal tunnel is an inflammatory condition and my rheumatologist said its common to see these conditions occur together. I'm glad I had mine done. I felt relief from the moment I woke up. It was a little tricky during the healing process because I did both at the same time and I couldn't turn a doorknob. My kids thought it was hysterical to trap me in different rooms. Hooligans.
