my mother had surgery to correct hers, it worked very well. she gets almost no pain now and only rarely gets pain when in a compromising position. I suggest get the surgery, maybe if you have the stomach for it - look on YouTube at the procedure
I had carpal tunnel in both my wrists way back in 1996 when I was working at a data entry job. it took a while, but finally a doctor did steroid injections. That, along with changing positions to one where I didn't have to do as much typing, pretty much cured it. I still get sore if I type or play the piano too much, but never much more than moderate straining. One piece of advice - never let anyone immobilize your wrists and thumb. That made things so much worse. I couldn't pick up a sheet of paper without extreme pain. Physical therapy is usually a good thing to try as well. I still do the stretches they taught me.
Thank You To The Ones Who Responded To My Question. I Really Appreciate The Feedback. I Am Now In A Quandry. I Have Been Going A Supposed Orthopedic Specialist & They Are Not Finding Any True Answers. I Had An EMG, & An MRI; Both Of Which Came Back Normal. However, From The MRI, There Are Two Cysts In My Right Hand & They Are Both In The Area Of My Thumb. Now!, I Have Question; Does Anyone Out There Think That This Is Normal? If There Are Any Doctors That Are Users Of This Site, Please Let Me What You Think. If There Are Any Other Persons On Here Who Have heard Of Such Things From A Supposed Specialist, Please Tell Me This As Well. I Am Getting To The End Of My Rope Here & Also Getting Discouraged. Please Help! Thanks Again!
