Cause of fibromyalgia

Sep 09, 2016 11:21 PM

OMG I think I've got it! I've heard that fibromyalgia is the result of overactive nerves. Many people say they start feeling symptoms after a trauma. I never remembered having a trauma...until now. When I was 18 I drank too much (underage, I know!) And I passed out on the tile kitchen floor, splitting my head open and giving myself a concussion. For the next few days I felt like I was being tasered every 3 seconds, then every 5 seconds, then every 30 seconds, minute, few minutes, until I finally was back to normal after a few weeks. I wonder if that's what caused it? Ya think?

It could be from that, but I think some people unfortunately just develop it. It's so hard to diagnose and there is still not a lot of understanding of it yet! Not underage if you live in UK!! That's probably why we have such high rates of,well Everything 😂😂

Cassi33, I don't think that your fall and concussion have anything to do with your fibro diagnosis. However, there are usually other issues that are attached to people with fibro. I wish that I could give you the answer you want to hear that would make everything make sense. Sending positive vibes and {{{Hugs}}} your way and I wish a light pain load and wonderful weekend for everyone 💕🙏🏻🌻😉

I can trace my symptoms back to two closely timed, extreme, medical traumas. Are they my triggers? I don't know. I do know that I am where I am, regardless of how I got here. I certainly understand the desire for clear, concise, answers. I'd love to have a few of those myself!!

Unfortunately it isn't that easy! Yes some people have experienced serious traumatic events ( physical or emotional) but not everyone who has Fibromyalgia has had a traumatic event. They really don't understand what causes Fibro for sure( there is always some data saying it's one thing or another).it would be nice to know cause if they knew maybe it would bring them one step closer to treating it or having a cure! Unfortunately for now it is what it is! Hoping everyone has a good weekend!😘

From the family I personally know, I think it is from GMO foods, chem preservatives, food dyes etc. Those that have done radical change to diet have improved 90% until they slip up and have to eat the regular food at a family reunion or Christmas event.

I have had no change when I changed my diet so again what works for one doesn't work for everybody!

When I was younger it was an incident when my mother's so called friend came to the house to kill her! We heard the shots and thanks be to God that she didn't kill her, but I couldn't stop shaking I was so scared and I can still see it and hear it like it happened yesterday amongst other traumatic things that has happened to me over the years!! 😔 Now I suffer with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Ulcerative Colitis, and Diverticulitis and nerve damage/neuropathy.
