CDC guidelines for pain medication

Thought I should share.
Many patients tell us they are being taken off pain medication or weaned to lower doses because of an overzealous reaction by doctors to the CDC's opioid prescribing guidelines. But a top CDC official says the guidelines are "not a rule, law, or regulation"  and they shouldn't be used to deny access to opioids

Thanks for sharing... I don't think it's so much the CDC as it is the DEA. They are the ones who are trying to get the doctors to take their patients off of their meds or lower them significantly. I am on quite a bit of meds and have decided on my own to wean down some. The doctor said I could wean down as far as I feel comfortable and if my body starts to hurt worse then he'd re-up my dosages. We'll see what happens.💕🙏🏻🌻😊
