Cellulitis

Dec 01, 2015 2:46 AM

I'll be darned if ever I hear anybody saying anything like You shouldn't be hurting. Cellulitis doesn't hurt.
Either that person doesn't understand or they are lying through their teeth. Was about ready to give in and take a prescription Ibuprofen earlier this morning, but realized I probably should not do that in case of fever. Can't wait for it to be 10 am already. Hoping that they can get the IV antibiotics going again, instead of leaving me on the Keflex which frankly doesn't work for me, and it makes me sick already(not throwing up, just the runs, tmi I'm sorry). Hoping for a better day today.

Amanda, you should have taken your temp first to see if you had a fever, written it down with the time and then taken the prescription ibuprofen so it could bring the fever down. Having a temperature will bring on more pain and inflammation and cause you to feel much worse. That something you sure don't need. Never forego taking something to bring your temp down even if you're going to the doctor, just keep a list of times and temp readings and what time you took the ibuprofen. I hope you are not suffering too badly. Try to take the ibuprofen now and then when you go to the doctor at 10am, you can let him know what is happening. No worries, I'll be with you to help you through. Rest a bit and it'll be over before you know it. {{{Hugs}}} 💕🙏🏻🌻

Well, back on the IV antibiotics again for 5 days only. Keflex was messing with my stomach totally so this is the only option.

Amanda, keflefex does the same to me. Praying this will be the last treatment you need. My hubby had cellulitis, as did our daughter, many years ago... It hurts! 🙏🌼

Amandamiddleton1234, I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with all of this, keflex doesn't ever help me. My husband has dealt with cellulitis so bad in his legs and the pain and redness are extremely painful. You will be in my thoughts and prayers my friend. Keep us posted on how you are. I agree with Alwayszinpain, about your ibuprofen.

Irish, my stomach is actually feeling much better now without the Keflex in me. Apparently, it just didn't agree with me. The MA was trying to tell me this morning that I needed to contact the surgeon and get a script for anti-nausea meds. I was thinking "No I don't. Cause he's gonna put me right back on antibiotics already today." I just knew what was coming so I wasn't too surprised. Thankfully, he did get me on it fast. Now getting the surgical incision not to open any more over this week cause that would mean another ER trip which would not be pleasant. If it does it over the weekend(knock on wood it won't), my gyn is on call this weekend and he's already aware of what is going on. Yay!

Taking my 800 mg Motrin, a Benadryl so I will sleep and going to hit the sack. 5 am comes early and yes, the Cubicin makes me exhausted already.

And annoyed this morning. Infusion is taking WAY longer then it normally does mainly because my vein is irritated and not due for a site change until tomorrow morning. Been stuck in this damn chair for 45 minutes and I want to be done already. But on the other hand, it sure beats the alternative.
