Cement spine

Oct 10, 2016 11:48 PM

Last night I rolled onto my stomach without realizing it and awoke and hour or two later in EXCRUCIATING pain. I couldn't move, couldnt turn over...it was horrible. I screamed and did some heavy breathing and was able to barely move onto my side to relieve my back but when I got up 2 hrs later I couldn't twist or bend to get undressed for a shower or wipe my own ass. Sorry, TMI but it just worries me. Right now the drs say fibro but tell me, is that normal for fibro? To feel like your spine is solidifying with rest?

Could be arthrosis.

I've had the same experience a few times with my Fibro. Painful and scary!

Cassi33, that does not sound like fibro to me!!! It sounds like you may have some kind of spasm in the area causing you not to be able to move or feel like your spine is cement. I have that happen to my neck. It happened right in front of the doctor and it took him over 30 minutes to get my neck and shoulder to unlock and help me move again. At the time it was locked it was also extremely painful that all I could do was cry. My arm hung limp at my side and my neck would not move and I couldn't pull my arm away from my body or even move my fingers or hand for that matter. I experienced that the other day again when I fell but I dislocated my shoulder when I went down and I also cracked 2 ribs and my sternum. I hope that they find the reason for your "cement spine". Best wishes and good luck. {{{Hugs}}}💕

I have that if I lay on my back. If I lay on my back I have excruciating pain and stiffness.

AnimalLover2 what's your diagnosis?

I have pain and stiffness like that and it takes your breath away. and I haven't been diagnosed yet with fibromyalgia but I also have pain like that from an old back injury. Though now instead of sciatica and the pain shooting down my legs it now does that and goes into the front and back of my shoulders clear up to the back of my head

Yes-all of the above.
