Chest pain

Jan 15, 2015 5:42 PM

Im a 27m ive been dealing with chronic chest pain for almost a year now. I have anxiety and panic attacks. Today I decided to take a bath (havent had one in a while), and after a few minutes it felt like I had an elephant sitting on my chest. I thought i was having a heart attack. I got up and it relieved as soon as I got out the tub. So anyways my question is does chest pain that escalates big time when bathing hint any clues to whats causing my chest pain??

I am assuming that you've been checked out by a cardiologist. If you haven't, you need to get to one NOW!!! This is serious. What you are describing are symptoms of a heart attack. I know that panic attacks can mimic heart problems but if you haven't been checked out by a cardiologist, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get into one tomorrow!

If you have then it sounds like an anxiety or, with the bathtub, a full blown panic attack, and they are scary. I suggest finding a good therapist & working on finding out what is causing these attacks & what you needed to do to end them. It might take a while & perhaps some medication but you can find an end to it.

Best wishes & please answer at least the cardiologist part. I know you're young but even children have heart attacks. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Ive been to a cardiologist during the summer and he said my heart is healthy. I have a new appt with one on tues. I used to have panic attacks weekly, now I am just stuck with 24/7 symptoms of whats probably really bad anxiety.
