New member here. Anyone else suffer with chronic back pain? I suffer with it every day but the past few days it's been so bad the past couple of days I've been stuck in bed whacked out on painkillers and it's really depressing me. Any tips on how you guys deal with it? Both upper and lower back pain. Thanks!
First of all welcome to our group. We all have different health issues but the one thing we have in common is PAIN. We support each other, we vent to each other, share advice, and cheer for each other. Now to answer your question I have severe back pains and I have muscle spasms every night. My pain meds and muscle relaxers don't do anything most of the time. I have to stretch my back when I'm having spasms. A lot advice that the other group members give is to soak in a bath with epsom salt. Also some say to get a tens unit and that will help. Don't worry you will get more advice from other people when they read your thread. Because believe me we very much understand the pain you are going through. Hugs💜
I have my entire thoracic spine fused and have a 20 inch rod with clamps, screws and hooks. I guess I am saying I understand. The best advice I have is keep your core muscles strong and practice perfect posture. I do pilates, yoga(modified) and often hang like a bat on my inversion table. The stronger my core muscles are the less back pain. Massage is wonderful but expensive. I take additional vitamin D, magnesium and zinc. Muscle relaxers and I stretch alot! Hot baths with at least 6-7 Cups of Epsom salts. Feel free to PM me if you want any other info. Take care.
Welcome to the group💕 I'm sure you will find lots of support here 🌸😊 I don't suffer with back pain but suffer with lots of other pain and my biggest advice is rest when you need to and try your best not to overdo it. Also I find a bath with magnesium flakes in it helps a lot 💕💕
@Frustrated I had an inversion table and disliked it. Got rid of it. While inverting, it caused pain in my feet and ankles and also increased pain in my head. I got The Back Bubble instead ( https://www.backbubble.com/ ). That is more gentle and helpful than inversion table, at least for me.
I was gifted a small, portable hot tub about a month ago. It’s been my saving grace. I keep it clean with hydrogen peroxide (avoids chemicals) so I feel good about using it. I soak 4-6 times a day depending on pain level. I don’t turn the jets on because that hurts. You could just soak in tub with Epsom salt and essential oils.

Last night I was literally in my bed crying with pain which is why I decided to join on here really, to get a little more support from people who are in a similar place in terms of having to deal with pain every day. Thank you for all the suggestions! I try to do a little yoga every day but have stopped the past few weeks, finding it difficult to get back into at the moment but I will do soon! Been looking into Epsom salts as well, I'll definitely make sure to get some of those as well.
I'm so sorry you were crying in pain. I've been there too. It just wears on your sanity! However, I believe we have to be some of the strongest people on the face of the earth with what we put up with. Love and prayers to you. ❤️🙏
