Hey! I'm an 18-year-old girl from Finland. I've had chronic back pain for 4 years now but it's gotten worse in the last 6 months. I'm mentally drained and physically exhausted. I'm just wondering if ppl are still using this app?? I'm new and would like to hear from others, to have someone else understand and can relate. Is there anybody out there?
Hi Hey it is me. Which app are you using? We're here. I'm sorry for your pain. We all are from different parts of the world, so we will comment different times of day. Welcome to the community. We all have different pain problems. I have fibromyalgia. Read through some of the other subjects and you will learn more about the community. We all care about each other. We're like a family.
Hi and welcome, as said before we all live in different parts of the world so we'll answer in our time zones which is literally any time where you are. So if you post in your time it could be a while before someone answers with support or advice or just something to make you laugh and make your heart a little lighter.
We all understand chronic pain and many of us suffer with not just 1 condition but many overlapping ones as well. Chronic pain isn't just physical it also takes it's toll on us mentally as well. I've found that "normals" don't/won't/can't understand and that includes the medical profession! We all try to support each other here and I've found this app as a lifeline....to finally found people who understand what living with chronic pain is like, not judging each other and just being here for each other. I hope you find the app as helpful for you as it is for me xxx
Hi Heyitisme. I have chronic back pain. 11 years ago I herniated a disc at L3L4 with bulging at L4L5 and S1. I was in excruciating pain for 3 months had one epidural injection that barely helped. Surgery after 3 months. Took me a year to feel better and still it was pain just less severe. At one point a docter had me try a lidocaine patch and that has really helped be more managable. I am in the midst of a bad flare up for about the last month. Got a steroid injection that has helped some but not my foot. It radiates through My hip down the front of my leg to my foot
I still consider myself to be young, at 39, but have been dealing with chronic pain since 19. Have had 4 back/neck surgeries (all fusions with instrumentation). I don't remember what it's like to not have severe pain...it just sucks. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, lol...but having folks here who understand has been so very helpful. The world of pain can be a lonesome place to travel alone...glad you're here! And Welcome!
Welcome to our community family Heyitisme! Our community is very diverse from where we live, our ages, health issues & treatment methods. But we all understand what living with chronic pain is like, and what it's like to be judged or misunderstood. You are among friends here, who all can offer so much support and suggestions.
When I joined several years ago I had no idea at how much is learn from others and that total strangers could help me because they "get it." The community has been a blessing in many ways. Please feel free to ask questions, offer suggestions, rant, cry, or ask for support.
I'm 55 and have dealt with chronic back & neck pain since I was 25, following 1 of many auto accidents and falls. So I've got spine pain all the way down into my fingers and feet. I just had my 3rd neck surgery this year and started PT today to gain strength, mobility, and pain relief (even with surgery). I've done lots of PT, nerve blocks, voltaren gel, exercises, TENS unit, stretches, muscle relaxers, and vitamin supplements. Though each thing has helped to some degree, nothing gives permanent long term relief. But for me the nerve blocks have brought me the most relief, at a price. They use steroid in the injections (injx) and I've lost bone mass because steroid blocks calcium absorption. I didn't know that side effect until after, but I'd do the injx again because they've given the most relief. However, just like our diverse problems, there is no one treatment that works best for everyone. It's a sort of trial and error path we each must take until we're find what works for us. Sending you hugs love and prayers you find some relief soon! 🙂💕🙏🌸
I'm literally in tears right now! I can't believe I've finally found ppl that understand and support!! I haven't even opened this app 'cause I didn't believe anyone would comment back but this is amazing! Thank ALL of you for just letting me know there's ppl who won't just tell you to stop whining and ppl who'll know you aren't faking pain for attention 😭❤️
Welcome to the family HeyItIsMe!! I am sorry you are experiencing pain at such a young age. I started back when I was around your age (maybe a couple of years older) and I'm 51 now!! You'll find a wealth of information, wonderful people who definitely understand and a great place to keep track of your pain, moods, sleep, etc for your doctors. Oh and a great place to come for a good giggle or two. I've wet my pants of a couple of occasions.. LMAO!! (Right Lulabel??😜🐪😂)
