i am really unsure but if you get any advances of knowledge of what its about could you let me know, i have this but from my shoulder down, or similar to what your describing anyway, thanks, and hope it gets better soon x
I have chronic hip pain. it used to be the bone that was the cause (I had perthes disease) but I've had corrective surgery for that, so now apparently it's just the muscle that's the problem. so I've been told to do LOTS of stretching, over a long period of time (months-years). maybe try that? also, if the doctor doesn't believe you, get a new doctor. you gotta pay heaps to see them, you may as well see a good one...
Celebrex is wonderful and at one time helped me a lot but its a very powerful anti inflammatory and is very hard on your liver and stomach too. I could not stay on it for very long without ill side effects. You cannot consume alcohol when on these anti inflammatories without damaging your liver. Alcohol works well for me to temporarily dull the pain but I can't drink when on those drugs that impact the liver.
It sounds like bursitis to me. I have the exact thing. Mine swells up and is really painful. You can have steroid injection to ease the pain and in extreme cases it can also be aspirated. It can also be known as a reffered pain as mine is to do with my osteoarthritis in my knee. Hope this may have shed some light on the subject.
Have you had x-rays? This sounds like how my hip pain started and they finally (after years) gave me a hip x-ray and found I had no cartilage left in my hip joint. I'm now on BuTrans patches which are great, but do cause drowsiness. Hydrotherapy also helps a lot, if your in pain and it hurts to do any kind of stretches or exercise I'd always recommend starting out in the pool.
